      That is becuase people using incorrectly. They not made to store air in the mask

    I spent a bit extra on my father in laws mask for Xmas so it didn’t have the CO2 build up problem. Wife wouldn’t have been too happy if I knocked him off accidentally.

    Careful with these, they have a tendency to cause issues (hypoventilation?) in some people who breathe shallowly. Did a reef course at uni and the only person who brought one of these had to keep stopping cause she was getting dizzy. One of the diving instructors mentioned that its pretty common with these.

    I’ve been thinking about these style scuba diving masks for years. Given there are so many imitations now, along with how important it’d be to function correctly, I’d love some comprehensive advice on which brand, which seller is safe and best to purchase

      They are snorkel masks, not scuba. Some are better than others but they all do similar things. Some have action camera mounts. Some don't. And not being scuba there's not much to them - if you've been thinking about these for years I'd suggest just get one and try it out. Go for a seller that offers a satisfaction guarantee.

          They shipped then quickly - I think it took a week.

          At this price - $21 delivered! - it's worth taking the plunge if you're sitting on the fence.

          Visibility is better than a normal snorkel setup. I find breathing through this one to be slightly less easy than taking deep breaths through a snorkel so i wouldn't go down below 2m or so. (I'm asthmatic though and anything which increases resistance to airflow has a disproportionate effect).

          Much much easier for the kids to use than a normal snorkel, especially if just messing around in shallows or swimming pool.

    These style of mask are perfectly good folks. Me, my wife and my brother in law all have a full face mask. 3 different brands but same result - they work well and are much more comfortable then a traditional snorkel set.

      i use both full face (easybreath from decathlon for regular $59 with shipping) and regular snorkel. Full face is really good for surface snorkling,no salty water in ur mouth, also very beginner friendly. however I still like regular snorkel better for the dive down for closer look.

    I've got one like this and I can't breathe easily in it. Couldn't snorkel with it. Wouldn't recommend!
    Better off with a proper/separate snorkel and mask.

    Can't speak for the brand but the style of mask is excellent. I've got both regular ones and these ones and these feel so much more natural. It can take a few seconds to get used to the fact that you're breathing naturally with nothing in your mouth, but once you do, it's so much more comfortable.
