Does this need to be renewed after a year?

    • I just signed up and didn't see anything about renewing or expiry.

    • No

    • "Use this token when you register to get your lifetime Dev Center membership for free."

    • +3

under manage subscriptions in my MS account it says expires in year 2069 makes it valid for 50 years

  • Thanks OP, done. Don’t know what i’ll do with this or if i need this :-) Since its free so y not

  • +5

I get: There are no offers currently available for you. Check back later to see what you can earn.

  • +4

no offers as well for me.

  • +1

Wants me to pay $21 also

    • +1

      Did you redeem code?

  • What is the token? It asks me for $21 or promo code.

    • You need to redeem the code through the link I provided in the OP.

      • +1

Oh ok, i get it now. Unfortunately "There are no offers currently available for you."

      • Yep, tried that and no offers available for me, thought I'd go into the normal process to see if it removed the cost at checkout but it didn't not either.

    • All you have to do is follow the deal link, sign up and click on the Free Dev Center Membership under Offers.
You will immediately receive a code that you can redeem here at the end of the registration process

      • Where does it say offers?

  • No offers have been redeemed RIP. Wanted to change my email on my old dev account.

  • +2

I had a code on another Microsoft account (a work related one), which I used on a different Microsoft account (my normal one) and it redeemed fine, despite being a different account.

    • I can also confirm this to be valid.

  • I've redeemed mine but maybe someone wants to try to see if it's generic?

codes are unique. shows as already used.

Edit: I tried a random outlook account I had registered years ago and it had the offer. Cheers

      • +1

I can't afford the ozbargain platinum membership and I'm not going to lie on my cv

    • Can the Publisher Display Name be changed later on? Which of the account types: individual or company are you guys using?

  • +2

thanks OP, I wanted this for retroarch on Xbox, my XBL account didn't have the code but another M$ account did and that code worked on my XBL account, so all sorted 👍

  • Done. Thanks OP.

  • Anyone else stuck on a constantly refreshing payment screen with this error. Even after logging in and out multiple times?

    “Error code 2006.
    Correlation ID 507aa446-f2c6-4b9a-9d6b-35c0bbb8fad2,jIZQA5uoUkygfoCz.0.0.
Your session has expired. Please sign in again. Error code 20”

    • +1

Was getting that whilst using Safari. Switched to chrome which worked

      • MS does not like Safari they bed with Google to develop their new Edge

      • Yeah I swapped browsers to get it to work

  • +3

Probably worth mentioning that you need to tick a box saying you're registered for GST.

    • +1

That's going to be a showstopper for many people

  • +5

This will be handy when Retroarch releases this year.

  • +2

Guess they are really scratching to get devs to make apps for their store

    • They should have done this years ago

      • +1

They did, I was already registered from previous offer.

90% built an app at the time for some reward they were offering at the time. Haven't seen anything to entice me to finish it (was too busy with work at the time to get it in by their deadline).

Fingers crossed they'll start handing things out to pad out the store at some point and I'll jump. Until then I have paid work (and reading OzBargain) to focus on.

    • Windows Phone all over again :D

(best phone software IMO, but worst apps lol)

      • +1

        Wouldn't say best phone software.

  • Nice, might actually consider publishing stuff through them now

  • Works. Thanks.

  • +1

My personal email does not get any offer
    But my work email does
Then I use my work email to get the redeem code and applied to my personal email account
    Still works!

BTW, I never use Microsoft Stores
Does Microsoft Stores only publish apps for Win10?

  • +2

free code for anyone who actually need it:
    9W72G-QQTXG-TQPK4-3RV63-M6GKZ

    79RJF-6FRWM-WR7TW-QT96Y-74K9Z

    4HV4M-GKMRQ-M6QF3-XDCHF-7WHMZ

    • Used the last one, cheers!

    • The codes were all redeemed

  • Registered, thanks OP…i cant wait to erm…dev things

  • Cheers!

  • I need an ABN to register :/

    • Not a required field.

      • Having registered for GST is required though…

        • Should only be required for publishing apps to their store for commercial gains, if that was not the case then use it freely as a sandbox environment

          • @ozdesi:

Should only be required for publishing apps

It's required to complete the registration

            • @jv: I know, just tick it and proceed ahead, you are not breaking EULA by doing that.
They are not asking for proofs.

              • -1

                @ozdesi:

They are not asking for proofs.

ATO don't require it though, why do Microsoft ?

  • +1

    I haven't got any offers :( I really wish I could get a code.

    • Me too :(

  • How does this help with retroarch?

    • +2

Retroarch is coming out on Xbox One sometime "early this year" because it is a homebrew app you require to set Xbox One to DEV mode…To do that you need an MS Dev account.

  • Thanks OP. Got one but no idea what to do with it.

    • +1

Got one but no idea what to do with it.

You can develop Microsoft Apps and sell them in the store.

  • Got a company registration! Thanks.

  • +8

When I click the "Get Code" button it disappears nothing else happens. I've tried both Firefox and Edge. Maybe targeted or they have run out of free codes.

    • +2

When inspecting the page's response, I too get '{"ErrorMessage":"No unused inventory codes were found"}' :-(

      • I saw the same error message in the Json Response.

    • Same here - nothing happens when Get Code is pressed. Has the deal expired?

    • Damn, I'm getting the same thing too!

    • Same result for me using chrome (normal & incognito), Edge and IE

    • Yup, same here, 3 different browsers all saying the same thing. Click Get Code and nothing happens. (apart from the GET CODE button dissapearing). Ohwell, was probably never going to use the damn thing anyways.

    • same

  • Anyone have a spare code for me?
I am actually a developer and missed this

  • +3

They have re-stocked the reward website with fresh codes, got mine!

  • Missed it… If anyone has a spare code, shoot me a PM please! CS student, second year, would love one of these!
