Strongly recommend trying the Octopath demo before you buy, I was super interested in the game but realised it’s not my cup of tea about an hour into the demo, FWIW I’ve played my fair share of (J)RPGs.
Obviously YMMV.Standest thou against me? Then be hunted!
I played the demo and enjoyed it, bought the game on release and got about 7 or 8 hours through it. One day I put it down and just haven't bothered to go back.
Don't get me wrong I love my JRPG but I could get invested in the story whatsover, which is a shame as I think the gameplay was fun.
That being said I also couldn't get into Xenoblade 2 either… so maybe it is me.
On another note bring on the FF re releases, as I definitely need to play them again for the 1000x time.

bought octopath as my first switch game.. I am still not hooked yet..
I was a fan of the old FF(VII to IX), and I was hoping to get the same feeling when I play this game, I feel this one is to repetitive, having to go to 8 cities to collect all the characters.
I really want to love this games,but has not got the same exp.. may be I am getting too old for games..

I couldn't find any of the Switch games on sale, but I got Evil Within 2 for $5, Farpoint VR for $10, and Tekken 7 for $30. All really good prices.

Sorry, it was EB Games! At Fountain Gate Melb. However, I had previously asked JB and they didn't have a copy but told me close stores that did and said they would price match. All you gotta do is try.

I was able to get JB to price match Hyrule warriors. Cost me $20 as I had a $10 voucher. The one I ordered from Target will probably be cancelled.

i actually also tried for bayo at EB! i already have it on the Wii U so it was a complete impulse decision haha

I played it on xbox game pass to see if I would like the 2nd and it seemed really dated and kind of bad to me?
It's a fun hack and slash with stylish combos and (imo) a really enjoyable story in an incredibly over the top way.
Also witch time and Bayonetta's jumping really made the game fun to me
Bayo 2 was also GOTY for it's time.

According to my experience with officeworks, they will reject price match when it shows 'Not available' on their computer.When I bought it I just pulled up the links on the first page onto my phone and that's all they checked,

Don't bother with Seven Hills. The guy there said that they don't price match with Target since they're going digital.

Some people love XC2, some hate it.
You might find the story a little slow during the beginning, but I was pretty invested from the start so I didn't really notice.
The combat may seem deceptively simple at first glance and needlessly complicated after a few hours, but once you 'get it' it's great.
It's easily my favorite Switch game. I've put 130 hours into the base game and another 30 into the expansion.
Bugger, only way I seem to be able to price match is if I can physically show the website on my phone, no luck if it's been removed. Been looking to get Xenoblade for ages but keep missing deals.

Was able to price match Bayonetta at EB Elizabeth. All they wanted was to see the website, other EB's in the area wouldn't price match. Worth trying a few places in the local area.

It's harder at JB because it's below a certain percentage, they have to get the manager to approve it, 9/10 they're grumpy LOL
