    I still can't active from the last deal. Keeps saying error when I go to process the payments. Live chat wants me to buy sims and activate over the phone. Did anyone else experience similar and have a solution?

      I got that error when I selected voucher for recharges, I changed to bpay and it worked.

        My current plan doesn't run out until the 27th. How would I go about maximizing the use of my current plan?

        I redeem voucher by the 14th and then activate by the 24th? So that means my number would swap over on 24th and my 4 months would start then?

          Are you currently with amaysim? If so and you want to use the same number you can't do it that way. Amaysim won't let you redeem the voucher on a new plan if the mobile number is already active in their system, even if you only plan on activating at a later date.

          If you are with a different provider, no problem.

      i believe when you buy this.. you get a voucher that need to use by 14th by buying the sim using the voucher. then you need to activate the sim by 24th.

      I used a new email (same CC, home address etc, as I ported from Amaysim to Telstra, then back again).

      Now I’m waiting for the new Amaysim sim to arrive and update as such.

    was hoping shopback would get a 6 month deal after cashrewards deal expired guess this will have to do for now , just have to port out your existing number to a carrier that does not use Optus network if your wanting redeem the voucher with existing number already on amaysim, my plan is just go get $2 telstra sim, port number out from amaysim , then once on telstra redeem the voucher and wait for new sim from amaysim

      You should receive a voucher from Groupon. Now go to amaysim and order this SIM plan, then use this voucher for payment instead of CC/PayPal.

          Shouldn't need to upload anything for ID check. Just need to enter details from one of: driver's license, Medicare card, etc.

    For those who are existing amaysim customers doing the port out and back in thing and wanting to keep number. Can I just clarify did you port out before doing the groupon redemption in order to get your new sim card sent out? Or can you redeem and choose keep no. And just put in the network you're going to port to even though you haven't yet?

    Wanting to know if I can still use my number on my existing amaysim plan until the sim card arrives. Or whether I will be in mobile limbo land on another network with no credit until my new amaysim sim arrives.

      You need to port out before redeeming the voucher.

      amaysim won't allow you to make an order (i.e. redeem groupon voucher) with option to use existing number if that number is already active in their system.

      Probably the best option if you don't want to be in limbo land is to purchase this deal, port your number to another network, redeem groupon voucher at amaysim, buy a $2 amaysim sim at Coles/Woolies, then go on amaysim live chat and ask them to activate the service on that sim instead of the one arriving in the post.

        Thank you! I was hoping I could do that live chat thing but wasn't sure. My plan b was to buy an aldi $5 sim that comes preloaded and then use it until the 24th.. but then that kind of defeated the purpose of the half price groupon deal. Plan C was limbo land..

    Should note that auto top up or whatever it is called cannot be disabled now, and the telephone rep said that was part of the T&Cs of the groupon code.

      I think they are trying to make it idiot-proof because auto-renew should not be disabled until after the 4th renewal.

      "Note that amaysim mobile plan services auto-renew on a 28-day basis. After the Groupon promo code finishes (4 x 28 days renewals), the normal prices will apply: $20 for Unlimited 2.5GB per 28 days; if you do not wish to continue your amaysim service it must be cancelled according to the instructions outlined at the website"

      You should also change your payment method to "BPAY / Vouchers" as well.

      Redeem the voucher and complete your amaysim order then go on live chat and ask them to activate the service on the sim card in your possession instead of the one arriving in the post.

    Hi folks, need some advice here. I bought one (thanks OP) for my daughter, but when I tried to apply the groupon code on Amaysim site, it says code is invalid. Is it something to do with an existing Amaysim account I already have (bought in Dec 2018 when it was $9.95 for the 4x28days 2.5gb deal) for my son?
    With the kids accounts I have to register under my name and DOB so does Groupon and Amaysim don't allow two accounts (different phone numbers) for this deal?

      When you sign up for Amaysim in order to be a new customer, you will need to use a different email address to the one you used to sign up in Dec 2018. If you have a gmail account then this is very easy to do (see here: https://gmail.googleblog.com/2008/03/2-hidden-ways-to-get-mo…). All of your other details (DOB, addresss, name) can remain the same.

          Generally going Optus to Optus is not recommended as it can take a few days for the transfer (which is much longer than going from one carrier to another). But I read on Ozbargain recently that for a few people it only took them a few hours for this transfer so YMMV.

          This morning I transferred from Amaysim (Optus) to Kogan (Vodafone) and it took less than 12 minutes to go through. I couldn't believe how fast it was!

    Bought this for the grandparents. Big warning though. After you buy the voucher from Groupon you CAN NOT choose to top up the account with vouchers you buy in store (eg supermarkets) . The system comes up with an error blocking you from doing this. You have to give amaysim your credit card or Paypal details. Seems like they do this so they can auto recharge your account. Really annoying cos the oldies would prefer to just get a voucher in store when they shop and not go online.
