Hey guys, found this in Whirlpool, bout 2 days ago, i tried to find the thread to link it back to but couldnt find it. Basically had a catalog up of GAME and their current sale, noticed the PS3 for $338 and was shocked! saved the image and figured i'd buy one, my mate bought one from GAME watergardens(vic) for the price of $338, and i also bought one but price matched at Harvey Norman Highpoint on Thursday night, guy was cool with the price and had no hesitation, i didnt even have the catalog on me, just showed him the pic through my phone and agreed to match it!, but my work mate tried to get this deal at GAME in EPPING tonight(16/4), and they said that it was a wrong price and that its actually $448 so i dont know whats going on but it worked for me and my other friend.

so whoever's been looking for a ps3 like me and waiting for it to come down in price, this is probably your chance, try your luck to see if anyone price matches for you:

      USB it's crap don't get it. Mine failed. There is one with AC and is better. but, I don't think they sell it anymore.

      Yeah I noticed that, my guess is that it was a misprint or something, then they removed it and put up another one cos I spent an hour looking for the whirlpool thread about it, wasn't just me that got it for that price, I'd still try to get it pricematched somewhere, my local eb's never even call up for pricematches anymore, it's a very good price and Im pretty stoked with it haha. I would have posted it earlier but I didn't even think of it sorry guys. Hope some of you still manage to get it.

          Yes they do… I price matched a HN PLS3 last weekend - was on their website on special at $392. Printed page out and took to EB.. no problems. It's more the bundles (ie - PS3 + 5 games) they won't price match on.

          I've price matched a few xbox's at eb before they won't pricematch if there's something they don't have usually like gameware accessories or jbhifi cables or it's a ridiculous bundle like ps3/xbox + 5 games, but then again every eb is different.

    told you's Try your price matching luck, don't bother going to a GAME, must have been a misprint and aren't gonna honor it, like i said in my original post, one friend got it on the day at GAME other tried another day and was unlucky. Although as proven, people can get it price matched so just try, you can only gain from trying it.

    No luck… showed the Game brochure to Kmart, the guy came up with heaps of excuses to not give us the price match.
    Went by a Game store and their price displayed was $448.
    Printed the BigW receipt and went to BigW and the guy said he had to check the Game website, came back saying he will not match it because both the Game Brochure and the BigW receipt were fake…
    Was so excited to finally get a cheap PS3! :(. Guess will have to wait some more…

      If you think about it, IF the flyer was a fake, we can alter the price and Pricematch it (ethics…pfft ;) )

      So

      1) Photoshop Prices on items you want
      2) Go Buy HEAPS of it
      3) ??????????
      4) PROFIT!

      there's no game receipt coz my mate didn't send it to me, honestly though - you should re-read my post anyway, one was lucky to get it on the day, and another tried 2 days later and wasn't able to as they said price was $448. i posted this anyway, and i said i found it on whirlpool, if its fake - well not my fault it worked and as you can see a few others as well, go price match if you want. I posted proof of purchase from HN, and there's a BIG W receipt as well.
