Hi all, I've been looking at cordless hedge trimmer skins to complement one of the existing battery sets I have. Looking at the reviews (e.g. below), this Ego unit, which has been superseded is still very competitive.

I couldn't justify the newer HT6500 for the amount of use I'd give it, and even this HT2400 at RRP ($239) was a stretch (yes, it's better, but it's twice as much as a cheap Makita or three times an Ozito). But for $159 it was a no brainer.

  Thanks - bought one. Recently purchased the Ego electric line trimmer which uses the same 56v battery - excellent tool; never going back to petrol.

    I was impressed by EGO's line trimmer, quite a lot of power in the motor. And the batteries are huge, you can get a lot done on one charge.

    Glad to hear it. Same for me - I bought their powerload trimmer pretty much on impulse and love it. I hated starting and re-stringing my 2-stroke Stihl, but both are push button exercises on the Ego! Now I'm waiting for something to happen to the mower to justify replacing that too. ;-)

  The Ego mower has some major flaws but the line and hedge trimmers are excellent.

    Keen to hear what the flaws are and which exact model of the EGO mower you are describing Lucky. I am about to pull the trigger on the EGO mower LM2101E and have only heard good things.

  I have the Ego hedge trimmer and blower. Both are great. Would recommend. The blower is actually better than the electric one I have… Was worried it wouldn't be powerful enough. Very impressed. 😊

    I've had the hedge trimmer for about 5 years now and it's never missed a beat.
