HP EliteDesk 800 G4 i7 8700 GTX1060 16GB DDR4 256GB SSD and 2TB HDD Workstation Desktop.
Bought this today. Thought it seemed like a good deal, but after buying, saw it was about $1000 more at Mwave and Megabuy.
Can you believe it comes with a PS2 keyboard? Bargain!

Mod Update: Deal has been extended.

Was going to downvote thinking ‘what a ripoff’ but then I saw - Business Slim PS/2 Wired Keyboard

Buy, sell everything else, keep the keyboard?

      • Now you’re talking. Bargain!

    • It is quite slim. Not sure whether it's 'business slim", but definitely slimmish.

    • How much is the keyboard worth?
I looked up PS/2 keyboards and I saw some for as low as $10.

  • this really not bad with 3 years parts labour and onsite warranty. cheap little workstation.

  • Saw this also, however I'm not sure it is a good time to buy an 1060 with the RTX2060 looming just next door…

    • Yeah but not sure you will get 5 spare USB ports, thanks to PS2 keyboard, once RTX2060 comes out (for some reason, they supplied some new-fangled USB mouse, otherwise there would be 6 spare USB ports)

      • I'm 100% sure the PS2 keyboard made this deal just unbeatable

      • new-fangled USB

Hopefully it's only USB 1.0. Love these legacy technologies.

    • you mean gtx 1660 Ti

    • if it had the GTX 1070 I would have purchased one.

  • I looked into this 2 years ago when it first came out but ended up going with the Dell XPS desktop instead. The psu is smaller in size and the back of the case is proprietary. Theres a steel piece covering the whole back which means theres no upgrading later on down the track using that same case.

  • I still got my IBM ps/2 keyboard.

    • An IBM one is a different story. I have a lot of fondness for a keyboard you can clean by whacking the back with a hammer, soaking it in the bath and then finishing it off with the garden hose.
The "slim" on this one puts me off more than anything. Aside from the useful (tho religious rage provoking) "click", the curved rake of the original was a dream to type on.

    • That thing would be nearly as unbreakable as a Nokia 3310.

Is it old school mechanical? I love how society went from old mechanical keyboards, to membrane, and now we are bringing mechanical back.

  • People still buy desktop towers?

    • How else would you get a computer with a PS/2 port?

      • +1

Extra points for 2 PS/2 ports, and not one of those half green/half purple ones.

    • Why not? A laptop/micro pc/tablet/etc won't beat the power of a desktop.

    • Feels weird jacking it to a laptop feels almost neanderthal. Gotta get that og desktop feel. I mean magazines are the best but have only so much usage unless you sleeve them which ruins the moment imho.

  • The price has suddenly gone up to $1599
