$50 from Perth. Not that we complained.

I remember on their second birthday they did $2 flights. I remember just booking about 12 flights not even knowing if I was going to be able to use them, Only used about 3 or 4 in the end!

    • We welcome our Virgin overlords with emptier wallets.

Wouldn't fly with them even if it was free. Canceled my flight twice left me stranded for 3 days.

    • Agree. I’d rrather walk.

      • You would arrive there first too!! :D

    • 🐅 abandons the hunt way too often.

Don't use Tiger if time is critical.
But for a family holiday, the savings can be worth the risk.

We had a trip cancelled, had to holiday near home instead, but got a full refund plus free air tickets for our next holiday.

      small tip: don't book non-refundable accommodation :-)

Jetstar is usually a better option, depending on the route, as they are able to find alternatives sooner when an aircraft has problems.

    • Tell me about it. I gave them a break after 10 years after screwing ne around multiple times in 2008. So flew them last year Hobart to Melb. Flight delayed 4hrs. Flight cancelled at the 4th hour of the delay. Next flight no seats until 3 days. Cheapest flight Jetstar $299 the following day.

Following month Melb to Sydney. Flight cancelled put on next one 2hrs away. Flight delayed 3 hours. Flight then cancelled. Put on a flight to Canberra then get bus to Syd. Canberra flight delayed 2 hours. Gave up and went home purchased a flight from Avalon the following morning which was refreshing to leave on time. Took 4 weeks for my Tiger refund to hit.

Checked yesterday, Jetstar is $141 for flights in March and April. Pay the $5 extra and avoid Tiger
    Thats Perth- Sydney

    • Bought Perth-Sydney yesterday too. Used Jetstar Pricebeat for 10% off Tiger’s price. This route has way too many cancellations on Tiger where Jetstar has been fairly consistent.

2 flights, 2 cancellations and they'll gladly take 21 days to refund you.

    Tiger SUCK

  • Checked a Melbourne - Hobart flight. $39.95 to Hobart, nothing available return for less than $150.

  • There is the Jetstar price beat if you meet the requirements and terms…its done via their website/we chat.

    Happy Ozbargaining!

  • Do Tiger give hotel vouchers if you get stranded these days (from factors within their control)? And do Jetstar still do it? It's the only way I get to stay in a hotel instead of a hostel/airbnb, so I would book the last flight of the day intentionally knowing the chances I'm taking.

From a quick glance, this article seems to say its no these days for both! (https://www.choice.com.au/travel/on-holidays/airlines/articl…). But https://tigerair.com.au/compensation-policy says they give $120 these days…and this article (https://www.jetstar.com/au/en/help/articles/compensation-and…) still suggests the $150 compensation for Jetstar remains.

    Maybe I'll write to Choice…
