EUROPEOZB25
Hi OzBargain,

I am Aidan from SimsDirect, welcome!

Thank you to everyone who got involved with our New Zealand Travel SIM deal last week :) We really appreciate all the support!

We had a bunch of requests for our Europe Travel SIM and I am happy to offer them for 25% off exclusively to OzBargain for the next 72 hours.

So if you are travelling around Europe any time this year (or next), you can get one of our SIMs delivered before you go and not worry about looking around when you land in Europe.

Handy for Aussie travellers; it’s really easy to use, so no mucking around with ID registration or setting up accounts. Simply plug and play as soon as you land.

It’s a prepaid SIM with a once off payment with us, that will keep you connected to the internet, to your friends and family and anyone in Europe for $1.40 a day.

We are a young Aussie business that's about to turn 1 year old, and we are aiming to help as many Aussie travellers as we possibly can.

So, leave some feedback in the comments or spread the love and leave an upvote if you see value in our service :)

Thanks!

Slightly off topic, but I saw you commented in another deal saying there was going to be a deal on Japan soon?

Do you guys offer/plan to offer a 21 day data SIM?

    • +2 votes

      Hey BensonP,

      Haha, all good!

We will have one soon, however, we don't have anything longer than 15 days!

So it may not suit your needs unless you want to grab a few and swap them out as you go.

Just keep an eye out on OzBargain for the next few days (if we don't this week it will be next week).

      Cheers,
      -Aidan

I am also interested in getting the Japan Sim. However in regards to this deal I see that Simcorner's regular pricing is $40 with free shipping, however you are offering 25% off your regular price and it is still higher then their regular price? Can you go lower otherwise this is not a good deal.

      •

        Edit:

I thought you were referring to Japan product!

Europe SIM: Simcorner has a great price on their Europe SIM currently. I can't beat that unfortunately!

        -Aidan

        •

No worries. Just a friendly advice maybe you should reduce your regular pricing so when you do a deal it's a genuine deal and ozbargainers are actually getting a good deal. It just looks you have inflated your regular pricing so you provide a "discount" that is not really a "discount". Also another example is that you have your Asia 15 Day Sim for $55 when Simcorner has it for $45 regular pricing.

          • +3 votes

@tclips24: Thanks for the advice tclipse,

I wouldn't call it inflating, I simply cannot sell my products that cheap.

Simscorner have been around for a long time (they are the OG's) and most likely have better relationships with their suppliers or order in much larger quantities than I can.

My prices are set at what I can afford as a startup business, and my deals are what I can afford to offer as a discount.

I do not claim to have the cheapest prices or offer the best deals, I simply offer what I can.

I do however respect what you are saying and I completely understand where you are coming from! Ozbargain is about great deals, and if it's cheaper somewhere else, then fair game!

I will make sure to really keep a closer eye on what's out there before posting in the future.

off topic but I am too looking for a 15 days Japan sim for April departure. Please let me know if you have or planning to have any promotions on them. :)

Soon enough, Sydney will have its own landmark leaning tower thanks to the cracking tower at Opal - Sydney Olympic Park

  •

    Is this a better deal?

    https://www.mymemory.co.uk/3-payg-4g-trio-sim-pack-aio25-300...

    £20.99 + £1.95 shipping = $41.35 for 30GB, same carrier.

    •

      That's a pretty good price!

There is one catch with that product because it is a 'Pay as you go' product the 30GB will only work in the UK.

There is a 'fine print' condition that only 15GB of data can be used per 30 days outside of the UK (in 'go roam' destinations).

      You can read more here.

Other than that it's a good price!

I wonder how roaming will go post Brexit, since it was the EU whom mandated "roam like home within the EU"

    https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/internet-tel...

    •

Since the Sim works outside Europe already you'd think it should be OK after Brexit. Of course I had to plan my holiday to start in London on the day Brexit happens … :(

    •

      Great question!

I didn't even stop to think about this before posting.

I have had a few discussions with my supplier about this and he's confident nothing will change immediately. If changes were to be made it would take some.

I've done a quick little google search and this article from BBC mentions:

"Will these charges return after Brexit?

If the UK leaves the EU on 29 March 2019 as planned, with a withdrawal agreement in place, any changes won't happen immediately. All EU rules and regulations, including on mobile roaming anywhere in the EU, will continue to apply until the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020."

      https://www.bbc.com/news/business-45064268

We will have to wait and see what happens. If the roaming was to be removed from the product without warning, I will have to deal with it when we get to it.

Hey Aidan, sorry it wasn't a crack at your product/service. It'll probably continue until the telcos decide otherwise. I expect there's long term roaming contracts in place between telcos, so no worries for most.

It was more of a thought bubble.

  •

Will the roaming feature still work after a no deal Brexit…….

(edit - beaten to the post by a minute)

  •

    Hi Rep,
We are leaving for Europe in mid March. Can we still get this? Thanks.

  •

Just bought one-thanks for sharing the deal :-)

  •

SO this Sim Card will work in Vietnam? Calls and Data?

    •

      Hey onion,

Only the data will work in Vietnam, calls and texts are for Europe countries only.

      Hope that clears it up!

      -Aidan

  •

Not a deal. Buy exactly this SIM on arrival at a UK airport (or getting off the Eurostar), for A$36 (GBP20) standard everyday price.

What's the point of buying it here?

    https://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Pay_As_You_Go

I bought one a couple of months ago, roamed around UK, France, Germany, and SIngapore for the 30 days. Worked great.

    •

      Thanks for your input sheikyerbouti,

I will see what I can do in terms of the price before bringing it back to OzB!

      -Aidan

  •

Same deal, same price (delivered to Australia), but 30Gb data on the 3 network (not sure about Hotspot though).

    Same deal is $39.50

    https://www.mymemory.co.uk/mobile/mobile-phone/sim-cards.htm...

    •

Ah, tricky. Been reading there may be a roaming data limit of 15Gb. Over that you pay a small amount per Mb.

I suppose worth paying the small amount extra to buy from the OP as then you can ask them all the nitty gritty.

    •

Not quite, you pay 1.99GBP for delivery so its currently $41.54. Granted you get the extra data, but you don't get the personalised service/support you would get from SimsDirect and have to wait for OS delivery. Pro's and con's depending on your situation I guess.

      •

It was $39.50 including delivery. Delivery could be up to 2 weeks, though I generally find stuff from the UK is not too bad. Better network, but yes, the support might be better if you need it.

  •

hi OP, which carrier does it roam onto in Greece?

Also whats the process for recharging?

Also LYCA mobile has 50% off at the moment. 22GB for $30aud
    https://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/bundles/

    •

      Hi Katz,

The SIM will operate on Cosmote or Wind Hellas.

The SIM will select a network automatically when you land in Greece, but you can manually select the other carrier in your device settings also.

Sometimes this is a good idea to try and get better data speeds.

Recharging: Currently the only way to recharge is to have a UK credit card and call ThreeUK directly. We used to recommend an online recharge service but had a lot of complaints from customers so we do not recommend it anymore. We simply recommend just using multiple SIM cards instead.

Lyca: That's a pretty good price for a SIM. I can't comment on LycaMobiles SIM cards as I have never used them.

      -Aidan

  •

I bought the SIM card in May 2018. I can confirm I was able to top up using a specific website that accepted PayPal (AU credit card) after confirming my identity. I've topped up twice and was able to use it in Europe.

Coverage depends on the country/network. The automatic selection might not be the best option. I manually selected a different carrier in Portugal and the results were pretty good. Then, in Germany, the connection was unstable/slow/useless most of the time. Alternating network didn't change the results.

  •

Thanks OP! I just purchased one as I will be travelling to Italy for a month in April/May!

  •

Any deals on the data only SIM for use in Europe?

    •

      Hey Ferocious,

The 'Data-Only' SIM is included with this deal, so go nuts!

      -Aidan

      •

For 2 cards with code it is coming in at $127.50. Is that correct. Also, will the data only SIM work in a Nighthawk portable modem?

  •

Thanks! Got me one, again, for later this year! I'll get back to you if it works while sailing along the Arctic circle waters, between Scotland, Iceland and Norway, LOL! (Oh and my friends say thanks for last week's NZ deal!)

    •

      Haha awesome! :) Thanks peewee!

Would love to know how it goes, sounds like an epic trip!

      -Aidan

  •

    Hi Rep,

This SIM card looks great for my coming trip in August as it works for Italy, France and UK.
Do you have any SIM card that work in Dubai too? I will stop by Dubai for a few days before heading to Italy.

    Cheers!

    Bernard

    • +1 vote

      Hi Bernard,

We don't have anything for Dubai unfortunately! You may have to grab something locally for the few days you are there before flying off to Italy.

Sorry I can't help out this time!
