Not a bargain just normal price for 4GB. I bought a 4GB from HN for $5 sometime ago.

    • Yep anything under 16Gb is pretty much around the $1/Gb price point, anything more than that is no bargain.

Free shipping to consider, this isn't BAD… it's just not anything special.

    • Unless you live within walking distance to these shops. I'd call it a bargain after taking into consideration transport costs, ie train/bus fares or petrol.

  • They have the same thing at Harvey Norman I think. The one in Broadmeadows (Melb).

Agreed. We recently bought some 8 GB USB sticks for under $7 @ OfficeWorks.

These vendors have clearly forgotten Moore's Law.

    • In store special I assume?

    • Actually, those 8 GB USB sticks were $5.91 each

I think I just saw some others' 8 GB sticks for $8 each.

PS I grant that anyone living in the bush or remotely would find this Deal's offering good value. For them, it would be a Deal.

Bah, USB 3.0 sticks are the way to go nowadays.

Even if you don't have USB 2 ports on your computer, USB 3.0 sticks are still noticeably faster.

    • got any cheap ones I could buy?
I have started my USB3.0 collection with the staples Hard Drive
now looking for a cheap-ass USB stick 4GB+

      • The smallest USB 3.0 drive you can find are 8 gig ones, and they cost upwards of $20.

There are no USB 3.0 drives I can see on Static Ice that are 4GB.

The cheapest one so far is the A-RAM TRX 200 series:
        http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?sourceid=Mozi…

        Prices:
        8GB - Less then $19
        16GB - Less than $30
32GB - About $50 (I bought mine for $56 shipped from Catch of the Day)

Still about $3 cheaper than OW for the same drive.

  • Plus 1 for being a compact size stick that fits nicely in a car stereo at a good price. c'mon people, you should know by now you pay more for compact tech items (like portable hdd) some trigger-happy negos here
