HP Envy 15-1112TX I5 Notebook - Officeworks $615

360

I picked up this notebook on clearance at Officeworks tonight for $615. Older stock but still good value for an I5 notebook with dedicated graphics. See the full specs here:

  • Why not link to image of the receipt(you can white out the personal details using MS Paint) instead of the google image of the product.

Have just uploaded the receipt. Sorry my first post…..

    • all good! ;)

  • Nice price. If I didn't buy a computer a few months ago I would be onto this in a heartbeat. ;D

  • Incredible price, now to find one in Adelaide on Sat

  • Damn, very good deal. I paid $750 for this on JB HiFi not too long ago.

  • did you have to negotiate at all?

  • Are there any reviews online? I can't seem to find any?

  • Thats a pretty good price for Envy laptop………will this be valid in officeworks in vicrtoria?

  • Didn't negotiate at all. It was marked at that clearance price on the shelf. Not sure if it's just TAS or in other states.

  • Amazing price..

  • wow no surprise they had left over stock at that price. $615 still good deal though.

Can people stop voting positive until it's been established the deal is available to more than 1 person.

    • After researching I found ye is true :-) !!
      …. aaarrrrrrrr matey !

      • Id b really interested in those New HP DV6.

They practically fixed everything that was wrong (apart from the screen res) from the older generation.

        • did those DV6s have an issue where part of the bottom cover would pop out as a friend had this occur with 2 of them.

  • can we price match to any OW at NSW with this receipt ?

    • No they don't price match receipts. Not their policy.

  • How much is it usually?

    • when it first came out, it was also $2000. then slowly dropped and now 615…. definitely a bargain i reckon

  • Anybody in tas mind raiding all available units and shipping them north? :P

I saw this at the Parra OW 3 days ago for $769 and thought it was a good deal.. $615 is even better…
It did drop down from 2K -

Could look better but I could only be bothered using (XP) Paint

[Mods: If that violates agreement #3 of the media uploader feel free to pull it down.]

  • Very good price, wondering if I can pick this up anywhere nearby in VIC?

    • You could try ringing stores to check stock perhaps. (If you can be bothered :))

      • +1

Just called up half a dozen stores in VIC and it seems there are none available. The last few that come up on the computer stock check are apparently all faulty boxes that were returned. Looks like I missed this one!

        • ah well, maybe there'll still be some elsewhere

is there seriously no optical drive with this unit?

  • No optical drive. Doesn't bother me as I never use it.

    • +3

wow 15" w/o an optical drive, that's weird

  • So did anybody else actually got this bargain apart from the OP?

  • +1

thanks tepaus, I got one this morning in Kotara, NSW….

Thanks OP, just picked up the last one at Taren Point OW with an additional 5% off 615 for being the display model. Bargain!

    • 1 week on - laptop is going really well. Everything works as you would expect from the above specifications, very solid performance. Underrated factors for this laptop include:

      1) Aesthetically, very good looking laptop and build quality is solid - very little plastic usage on it (in fact I can't see any plastic at all), the external build quality compares favourably with my Macbook; and
      2) The sound quality is fantastic - much better than any other laptops I have had (so it should be - HP Beats is one of the primary selling points for this laptop), didn't realise what I had been missing out on all these years watching NBA games on the laptop until now.

      Only downsides are that:

      1) I do find the keyboard a little hard to type on because the keys are just a tad on the small side; and
      2) it's a total battery hog (although the heat isn't too bad, again when compared to the Macbook).

Don't get the kerfuffle over optical drive, it's probably a bit strange but external drives are cheap these days and I never need it when I travel around.

Wouldn't buy it at $2000, but bargain at $580 - will probably keep this over the other laptops I have due to the build quality.

one left @ Hoxton park, wouldn't go any lower than $615. Not a real bargain if no optical drive plus demo unit.

An i5 540 and and a Mobility 5830 for just over $600 is not a bargain? $400-500 laptops still often come with integrated lol.
