  • I need to renew my kogan plan in april , wondering if voucher has actual expiry date or i can use anytime during year.thanks

    • +1

      1 month from purchase.

    • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 28/02/2019. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date.

      • +2

Bought the same deal. Mine says "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 10/04/2019"

  • +1

finally Kogan gave in to Lebara - they must be listening to us. Thx Kogan! Just bought one with my current 365 plan expiring next week.

  • im contemplating getting this deal, but im not sure what i would use the data on besides using kfc and maccas app?

so curious, what you guys use the data on?

    • I'm a low data user, so mostly web surfing.

      • oh right, how many days can you web surf before the data finishes?

also what happens when data finshes? are you charged extra or does the speed cap?

        cant edit post..

        also wondering

also is "UNLIMITED standard national calls for 365 days" means any mobile and landline phone in australia?

        • +1

Well 3Gb is prob enough but 5Gb would be the best. Gives the opportunity for a bit more YT watching.

And yes to your 2nd question.

        • You can always apply an "add-on" but expensive way to top up. Use your unlimited NBN wifi at home as much as you can.

    • +1

If you have wi-fi at home then 3GB is adequate for simple web browsing and App use while out. If you feel the need to stream a lot of videos or YouTube on the train then you need more. Kogan doesn't seem to offer some of the data free Netflix, Spotify perks though.

      • +1

        Oh right thanks

Yeah got unlimited wifi at home

    • Primarily: Email app, GPS (Google maps for driving), Commonwealth bank app and ye gads!!! Pokemon Go! Lol. I do use Google almost every day to look up phone numbers and addresses too. Seems I use my mobile more than laptop or ipad these days … which is why I don't "own" either … I borrow son's …

      • +1

        oh right thanks

does google map work when your (trying to find a place) on foot as well?

        • Yes, so long as you have the GBs available Google Maps will work fine. It usually gives you a few alternative routes, especially if longer distances are involved, so from a larger map shown you just tap on the one you prefer and tap blue Start icon. (I often avoid Eastlink in Melb).

A few friends use TomTom etc. but I just don't see the need to purchase a separate GPS navigation program myself; Google works fine for me. (My only petty bugbear is, if you listen to it, it will often say "take the third exit on the left" at a roundabout … instead of turn right!)

I think Pokemon Go! uses Google maps too, but it only shows streets, parks, etc. without any street names. It even shows dams I didn't know existed before in rural areas. Not completely up to date though, as have noticed that a few recent developments (houses) here are not shown. We wouldn't use Pokemon Go! for GPS of course; go directly to Google Maps for driving or walking.

          • @JediJan: Oh right thanks for the reply

  • Are these vouchers stackable so I can extend my current plan?

    • +1

No. You have one month to activate the voucher but if you have a current plan, it will override that.

  • +1

Does Kogan provide international roaming? If not, any prepaid recommendation who does one?

    • +2

      see International Roaming

If you go with Optus, they have international roaming included w/o any extra fees. But you will need some credit for that.

    • +1

I Suggest Amaysim if you intend roaming. They have promos often and have a 1 year credit expirey. I make sure to port to Amaysim before leaving the country.

  • The medium plan with 13gb is showing as $132.65 as well for anyone who needs more data.

These deals have come about a month too early for me as my current Kogan services expire at the end of March.

    • +2

Wouldn’t you have been better off to purchase and just forfeit the one month?

  • +1

That expired quickly? Was it a price error?

    • +2

      I think so

    • +2

yeah - maybe… well we'll see. I bought one this morning.

      • +1

        They will probably honour it

      • Let us know if you get the voucher code!

        • Look on view order. I bought 3 medium plans and 2 codes have been generated. They could still potentially cancel the codes, but that would take too long to chase imo

        • I got mine

          • @Hazzard: I got my voucher too.. excellent value!

    • +1

I think so too. Managed to purchase a Large voucher code for $152.30. Lets see if they honour it.

      Thanks OP.

PS For anyone interested, the Extra Large voucher is still showing up as $188…. And its marked as sold out.

  • Yeah, just tried to add it to cart and it says expired.

  • +1

Hopefully they honour the price, otherwise its off to optus $120 prepaid plan

  • All the prepaid vouchers are "sold out"

    • Probably fixing the pricing error.

  • +6

“edit- damn, was dicking around and didn't buy and deal expired.“

    Lol

    • +1

      same :(

      • I was super quick and bought 3 medium (3 separate transactions). I already received all the vouchers.

        • Where do you see the voucher code?

          • @asa79: They send the code in a separate email. I got it in about 2 hours.

  • +1

Thankfully I moved quickly. Code already mailed! 👍🏻 Thanks heaps OP!

  • +1

price error? preview for next sales?

    • +2

Price error, they had also Half price iPhones/tvs etc

  • +1

    it is now $152.10.
    Wait for a better deal.

  • Do u think it is going to come back???

    • +2

      Not at that price

  • Does anyone here that works at Kogan know when the $1 XL starter SIMs are coming out again?

  • Damn it, was going to use 100$ kogan gift card for one those small vouchers, anyone have a spare? please PM me. cheers

  • +2

Optus is the king right now with $120…if Kogan able to do it for $91.10 or even $100 that's amazing deal..i got 4 people waiting good deal around march and April.

  • -2

Vodafone $40 with 20% off if you connect 5 services comes down to $32 for a full proper plan with plenty of data, international calling and most importantly, cheap reliable roaming

    • 40 for 365 days?

      • I think that $32 is every 35 days. At that price I would go with an Optus sim only tbh. I paid $122 for 13gb for 1 year, so that’s only around $10 a month for paying upfront

        • Yea thats not a deal to match this
