I know it's Telstra and all but for mine, the Optus $84/mo for the 64gb XR (any colour) w 100GB data just seems better value to me.

Telstra have gone bigly backward service-wise. Now they offer the same crappy, amateurish support as all of the other telcos, and virtually the same coverage.
Their mobile/internet plans are no longer worth the premium they charge. If I didn't have to use them for nbn, I wouldn't.

Telstra’s mobile coverage getting worse and worse, maybe still super good in regional area, but in Sydney metro is not worth to pay extra money.

        • It was for me. Couldn't get reception in my underground garage or in my inner city appt, or even at Central station at peak with Optus. Switched to Telstra and haven't had ant issues at all.

@onlinepred: I've gone the other way - from Telstra to Optus.
Getting reception in areas that I couldn't get with Telstra, especially on the train. Haven't had any issues with Optus and it's cheaper too compared to what I was paying with Telstra.

            • @Heybargain: I wonder if it's anything to do with phones? Do you have a new phone by any chance? Or a Telstra "tick" phone?

              • @onlinepred: Don't think so, haven't upgraded my phone or anything still using an iPhone 6s.

                • @Heybargain: Could be it? I'm using a tick approved phone on Telstra. Guessing that's because it supports Telstra's new bands?

      • Why do you need to use telstra for nbn??
If you were on telstra cable, you can change to whoever now that on nbn/hfc.

        • not if it's telstra cable. We have Opticomm FTTH where we are and we can only use their approved suppliers.

    • This offering doesn't exist anymore (from what I can see).

    • Apples and oranges. The Telstra offer is for the 128GB iPhone. If you need that storage, Optus is a whole $1 cheaper, but ide give up the superior regional coverage and my 3 no cost data share sims. The Mrs needs a new phone and this is as good as it will get on Telstra for a while.

20GB Data? It is a trap, an overpriced trap.

  • This is really not a deal.
Voda is currently doing iPhone XR 128gb for $90/month with 50gb data over 24months.
    For $80, it's 15gb a month!

You can't do a lunar new year offer and not make it $88

    • Lease option is $88.

  • Just an FYI, I just tried to purchase this deal, despite having links to the deal on the Business page, its a personal only deal which is crazy.

    • Seems the Telstra chat person gave me the wrong info, you can sign up on a Biz plan.

  • Telstra have the Ocean Blue 128gb Samsung Note 9 included in the Lunar New Year Offers.
