They should bring these deals more often. There are many Nepalese student in Australia and many Australians visit Nepal. It surely going to benefit the travel company too, ain't mate?

Thinking of climbing Everest πŸ” Any one-way flights?

    • +1

great thinking! free cryogenic freezing and when they discover a cure for stupidity in the year 2120, the flights are bound to be cheaper!

  • I did the Annapurna base camp trek. Best experience of my life. I paid peanuts to do the 8 day trek.

Here is a short 3 mins film of the highlights

    • May i ask with whom?

      • +7

yeah, so what I got told was to arrange the guide in Kathmandu itself, instead of getting one organised from Aus since it will be way cheaper. So I paid $630 for a 8 day trek with guide, including all accomodation, 3 meals a day, all permits, all transportation, litrally everything. I did the trek with the nice young guy called Bhajaya. The company I ended up going with was called Osho vision treks. But I have Bhajaya's details in the description in my video, ask him directly if you want, he will be slightly cheaper. But in say all this, these guides make hardy nothing, so I don't recommend going too cheap. It is always nice to help out nice people. The Osho vision trek manager was super nice and good to talk to. He has his office in the main area called Thamel, so go there. There are a bunch of these trekking companies there, for me Osho was best and value for money and safe.

        • cheers bud

were you solo with the guide?

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Yeah, so I landed in Kathmandu, next morning I went to Thamel, looked at a bunch of Trek agencies, booked the 8 day trek with the Osho guys, bought some trekking gear (which is also really cheap, just bargain) and then the following morning I started the trek. We went to Pokhara, which is a beautiful small town before going to the starting point of Annapurna base camp. Just me and my guide. But you meet a bunch of people from all over the world in the common area/dining areas of the guest houses.

        • Thanks for the info and nice video..you really looked happy and in peace in the video. Regarding the guide's name…it must be Bijaya. Pronounce B-Jay.

          • @manofoz: Thanks for the lovely message. Yeah, my mistake Bijaya. Thank you. Nepal is truly such a peaceful and spiritual place.

    • I did on last month. Best 5 days of my life.

    • That's an awesome video, thanks for sharing!

      • Thanks for the lovely comment Doweyy πŸ™

    • What kind of fitness level do you need to do this trek?

      • If you don't have trouble running 30 minute in treadmill then you are fit enough.

  • Have any one had done Annapurna circuits before??

    • I have done Annapurna circuit one year before.

      • How was the experience in overall mate and do you have a rough idea how much can i budget for all the trip as im planning to head towards circuit this march you thanks in advance @nullifier

        • +1

The level of trek is challenging as we have to cross Thorang la pass(5416 m) above sea level. Rushing to finish trek early can cause altitude sickness. But every step is worth. It's beautiful.

Budget of your trek depends upon on how many days you want to finish the trek and from where you start. The jeep goes upto Manang. I started from the Besishar so the trek was long and a little bit expensive. I have found most of the trekkers starting from Chame. But keep in mind the road is bumpy and dangerous. Are you planning to travel solo or with guide?

          • @nullifier: I'm planning for solo because I had 20 days to go through Annapurna circuit so wanna spend more time over there and enjoy the beautiful mountains. Do you think carrying a Anti altitude sickness tablet will help in throng pass in case i need it cz i am sure it's no turning back after i started until and unless feel i can't make it up. been planning for more then 2 yrs so super excited thank you for sharing your experience .

            • +1

@rottenpotato123: If you have never been to high altitude then I would recommend carrying Anti altitude sickness tablets. You could also find porters if you have heavy backpack. There are horse services available to cross Thorang la pass. Hope you will have great experience. Cheers.
