worth it for the greatest rendition of take me home country roads

  • Thanks, ordered Dead Pool 2 and Alien Covenant, which I missed in cinema

  • Only ones worth getting there is Deadpool 2 and Alien Covenant.

The first Maze Runner was alright, the rest horrible. Would've got Showman if it was $10 just for Wolverine

  • Picked up Alien Covenant, cheers.

  • Alien Covenant gone now.

    • Thanks, I've edited the post.

Considering physical media rarely lands in landfill, instead it sits on people's shelves more than likely forever; I can't see that argument.

      • -4

People need to chill, it's just a passing thought (from morning shower lol)

I don't even have keep a disk player at home (to save space) so physical media is largely irrelevant for me

        Thanks for your considered response

The next media format is bound to be digital only, consoles are bound to be digital only soon. Physical media will soon be an afterthought. Our money are just numbers in a computer, our movies are just numbers in a computer, our social lives live in a computer… are we in a computer?

@Jack D Price: I really hope you are wrong. I myself prefer physical media, I like having a collection of games and blu rays/DVD's, I know it probably seems silly to some. But the worst thing is that if physical media dies there will be no competition. Imagine only being able to buy console games from the manufacturers store which is already ridiculously overpriced. Also, when it comes to film you can't beat a real blu-ray or 4k blu ray now. Most people probably don't care but I like to watch movies in the highest possible fidelity, and there is a noticeable difference compared to streaming.

@Jack D Price: Psst… There is no spoon.

          • @Jack D Price: neo is that you?

  • Doh! Just paid $20 for Deadpool 2.

    Thanks OP.

Got an XBox One X from the GG price error saga last week so Deadpool 2 will be my first 4K blu-ray. Just missed out on grabbing Alien, though.

    • was cheaper than a 4K player…

    • Oh wow some people got them? I thought they canceled all orders.

      • +2

A few people managed to sneak through the cancellations I saw. I called around a couple of stores for stock and managed to push through a click and collect order. I was going to let fate decide whether I got one but then decided I wanted the console too much to wait and see lol, so picked up the kids after school and then rushed to the store before they could cancel anything.

          Nice work.

  • I will get Red Sparrow, and keep replaying for one particular scene….

    • The torture scene?

      • My guess is the give-classmate-what-he-wants scene

That is the worst garbage movie ever after 15 minutes I stopped watching absolutely garbage and her career will also head that way for doing this garbage. If I was at the cinema I would demand my money back utter garbage.

      • +3

        Nah man nudes sell

      • It’s wasnt great. But wasn’t the worse as well.

      • I watched it at the cinema and absolutely loved it…

      • The movie starts after like 40 minutes….

  • Cheers OP :)

  • Red Sparrow is out of stock

    Too slow! Ha ha

Huh, watched Deadpool 2 in 4K BD for first time last night incidentally. Great film.

I reckon the Bluray version of Deadpool 2 is a good deal too for $7.50 here

    • I've added that to the post. :)

      Awful movie.

    • Please don't buy this

    • Yeah it is a terrible movie! haha
I considered it, then decided against it!

  • be aware that many are Fox Single Disc UHD versions…..

    no extras……

Edited the post as many of the $10 titles are no longer available, but heaps of $12 titles added.

    • You the man!

  • They're really trying to get rid of their Everest batch…

  • Justice League 4K is $12.

    • and you then said that Independence Day 2 was a awful movie :) 4K only highlights the shonky CGI on Cavill's mo :)

      • The visuals and soundtrack are much better than Independence Day 2.
The main problem is that Superman is Too OP.

    • +1

Yup, also an awful movie, I couldn’t get through it.

    A couple more $10 titles

    X-Men First Class - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07G4F74TF/ref=ox_sc_ac…
Murder on the Orient Express - I have this already and it looks stunning in 4k.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Murder-Orient-Express-4K-UHD/dp/B0…

    • From the reviews, Murder on the … is slow and predictable? Worth it?

      • +1

The movie itself isn't that great.
If you have an OLED TV, then definitely get it at that price. It is demo material. Shot on 65mm and mastered from a 4K DI. Picture quality doesn't get much better than this.

    • Always get confused with some of Amazons listings as they show the 4K images, but the product description/listing says Bluray!

      • Yes, some even say DVD with 4K pictured, like Serenity. It's a bit of a mystery, that one. But the 4K is definitely pictured and is discounted in the same manner as all the other 4K's so…..I'm going with it.
