    • When do you cancel it?

      • +3

When I did it, I waited for my order to arrive and then cancelled it that day.

Placed order to arrive Tuesday morning.
Then cancelled Tuesday when I got to work.
I had until Tuesday (or Wednesday, cant remember) midnight to cancel before the next order went through

    • So it has to be on-going subscribtions to receive the cashback?

      • Nope. Only after you receive your first order. Then you can cancel your subscription

        • +1

"Cashback will not be payable if the goods or services are cancelled or returned."

Couldn't hello fresh argue that cancelling future boxes (but not deactivating the account) is still cancelling?

It does looks like a great offer OP, but I am concerned that Hello Fresh will pull the cashback based on future boxes being cancelled.

          • +1

@franky82: I received my cashback last time even though I skipped delivery each week

    • How to get a free shipping? I got charged for shipping :(

      • +1

Think it depends on area. If you're metro, usually it's free

    • +5

That's pretty much a 14% return for a 3-month investment. Do you have savings account at 14% D:

    • +8

I don't think cashbacks are meant to be a money making scheme…while it's nice to make a profit out of it, it shouldn't be the intention

    • +19

You get a box food and $5

Sounds like a great return to me

  • +6

Tempted to try this, although you can almost Guarantee Hello Fresh will find a way to cancel this deal or not honor it based on all past experiences with them.

    • +1

Have you successfully done one before?
I was so skeptical of HelloFresh and gave it a go. Found it to be really good, only downfall was the overall price :|

    • +3

What past experiences? I got a whole lot of very cheap food through them. No problems ever.

  • +4

Maybe add [New Users Only] to title somewhere.

I did this deal last time. Overall, it was very worth it.

    Positives:

    • Get to pick from a lot of nice meals + easy to follow instructions

    • Some ingredients normally expensive so I just used the meal as grocery shopping

    • Delivery is great

    • Got my free $5

    Negatives:

    • Need to make sure you set your schedule to CANCEL every week after until the Cashrewards comes in (which took a very long time)
    • How long until you got your cashback?

      • I made my purchase 31/July, CR estimated approval on 31/October. Doesn't say when it actually came in on my account though.

    • +1

Thanks, I had 'on your first order' but think was edited by someone.

Also I agree with your points. Really nice but also really expensive overall

Not so much as a single word of explanation from HF after they pulled the last deal, or even notice that the order was cancelled.

If it was a code that wasn't supposed to be or whatever (not that it's hard to limit redemptions, but still), the least you can do is notify users that their order was cancelled.

    • +1

At the end of the day, it was obviously an unintended use of the code. This one is legit. I see no reason to neg, unless your blaming the merchant for trying to patch their mistakes…

      • -3

Well, there's two issues with that.

        The first,is that it's trivial to implement the following: if (redemptions > redemptionLimit) { doNotRedeem() }

The second is that as a brand new customer, I was waiting for a delivery that never came. Nobody called, nobody emailed, I received absolutely no notification of the cancellation of my order. To me, that's a "major issue with the retailer". Mistake or not, it's common courtesy to advise that an order's been cancelled.

    • You're acting like HF own you something.

      • Yeah, they do, some basic customer service, if not the products I ordered. I signed up, gave them my personal details, placed an order and had money deducted from my card.

It's incredible that I've been negged in support of a company that has 3.3 BILLION in gloabal revenue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_Internet

This isn't some small mum-and-dad shop startup, it's part of a massive, multi-billion dollar venture capital organisation.'

Tell me - honestly, am I wrong to expect at least SOME form of communication of a cancelled order?

        • You paid $1 for something worth $100+ (which was an obvious pricing error/mistake), and you expect to receive a certain level of customer service?

Entitlement at it's finest right there.

          • @magic8ballgag: That was the promotion they were offering; that's not what entitlement means, and it's also not what I said - all I wanted was some form of communication that they weren't honouring their own promotion, or for them to honour it.

$100+ for $1? Yes, that's literally how introductory offers work. It's very common. It's called a promotion sweetie - look it up.

            Such entitlement!

            • @picklewizard:

$100+ for $1? Yes, that's literally how introductory offers work. It's very common.

You truly believe that HF were purposely giving away meal bundles which are normally ~$100 for a dollar?

              • @magic8ballgag: Yes, that's literally how introductory offers work. It's very common.

I feel we've covered this already.

                • @picklewizard: You can quit being condescending now as it only makes you come across as superior.

Yes, that's literally how introductory offers work. It's very common.

There was never any mention of introductory offer on the deal itself or by HF, so what you're saying is incorrect.

  • does new users mean new email

    • Use a different credit card too

      • New address is new user. They don't care if its a new person at the same address. Per household = per user.

  • +2

Check at bottom line , cash reward will be not payable if service cancel or order cancel, so I will pass good luck.

  • +1

    Free food!

  • -1

Why would you now use the CRHF40 for $40 off ? it's listed on the same page. depends on how much your order is i guess becasue it's %40 not $40

  • I'm not sure the time frame (maybe 12 months?) but I've definitely had a similar offer twice to same address.
The 2nd time I got the cashrewards also, even though cancelled after first delivery.
