It works! Just used it 20 min ago.

Procedure:

  1. Sign up/register (Don't select or use any discount codes when you sign up)

  2. Select the 2 x 5 meal plan (original box or veg)

  3. Type in your details, delivery details, payment details etc and use the code: FBODRSD

  4. The code will turn your $110 order into $1

  5. Once paid and processed, go ahead and cancel the subscription

Extra Hack: Apparently you can use the same CC details on a new account (ie different email address) and it will work!

      Very likely. The thing is, when such a deal is made to a few customers then it wouldn't cost the company anything. But when it's posted on OzBargain and thousands of OzBargainers try to take advantage of it they will be forced to cancel it as that will be a big financial loss. Now no one will take advantage of it.

    Apparently they blocked prepaid credit cards a few weeks ago

      Yeah, if you're not in their free delivery areas, the delivery fee is charged regardless of coupon value.

      I usually do it straight after delivery just in case. Although I did cancel for a friend before it was delivered and I got the message ‘your last delivery will be 10/11/2018’ made up date but you get the point haha

      • Skip the next week or two in the calendar if you don't want to cancel right away.

      Pretty sure they were doing it tough and trying to get more people on board with the codes though.

  • For those who ordered before, what do you recommend that's good?

      Tried them a couple of times previously, and wasn't sufficiently impressed to continue. The menus didn't inspire us, but they now advertise that they have improved their menu options recently, but we haven't validated that.
      My main concern was with the 'food miles'; everything was shipped to Melb from Sydney. A lot of people won't be bothered with that, but I am very fortunate with lots of local produce available nearby.

    Cancel the recurring payments on PayPals end, so when they go to charge you it will bounce. Instead of signing up and instantly cancelling, or trying to remember a certain day to cancel by.

  • Decided I'll pay a bit more and ordered the family meal plan for 19.85 AUD
    Order went through but still no confirmation email from Hellofresh.

    • I did the same thing and it ended up being $15. So if we don't end up getting the meal will we still get refunded?

    • You can skip a few weeks in their calendar if you want to wait for the delivery before cancelling, but I believe they charge Tues the previous week of your order.

    I got given this referral code 2 weeks ago for this same thing, 5 meals for 2 people delivered for $0.
    It arrived no issues but as OP said don't forget to cancel the subscription, it defaults to a weekly subscription.
    Once ordered, i changed it to a once a month subscription and after it delivered I cancelled as it wasn't what i was expecting.

    • Where do you go to change to monthly subscription?

      • Account settings, then 'plan setting' i think, the options in my account look different now that i've cancelled.
        And a correction, it did cost me $1

        I believe some people have had no issues cancelling straight away, because it does still display a confirmed final delivery date. I just changed it to a once a month delivery after ordering because i wanted to try the service before cancelling it. Had no issues cancelling after it arrived and i haven't been billed for the next delivery.
        The site tells you (can't remember where) when your next order has to be processed, ensure you cancel before then, if you don't want to continue.

        i agree. the whole thing went thru without me knowing what really happened.

    • The additional 23.80 is because some recipes are considered "Gourmet" and/or just special and as such charges slightly more each week hence the additional charge. You can see the additional costs in the bottom right in green text for each recipe box above the download button.

          You get some choice, I think like 2~3 are additional cost but the rest are normal so you can choose from them I believe.

      Couldn't see it myself so I just went to Plans and selected the 2 person 3 times a week plan. No idea if I shortchanged myself or what but that's good enough for considering the regular price appeared to be about $70 before shipping

      /edit/ I picked vegetarian meals

      P.S. I was not able to see any such option for vegetarian meals.

      • I could only get it to work on Chrome on my phone, wouldn't work any other way but luckily I finally did it!

  • I just ordered it.. it came to $9.95 for delivery using Paypal.
    Then I cancel the active plan immediately so do they deliver the 2x5 meals that I just ordered and paid for delivery?
    I looked into my account and it said Your account is deactivated and no delivery… so do I reactivate?
    Let them do the delivery first before I cancel the subscription?

    It would most likely not honour them, but having to deal with thousands of order cancellations would teach them a lesson about bait&switch and having a crappy IT system
