Effectively 25% cashback return through bonus points if spending the exact amount.

  • +34

Might be nice if I save up those dollars - I always spend the $10 dollars worth of points straight away in the next shop.

    • +7

These might be a way to earn some quick

      • Good idea, may have to actually buy some TCN Restaurant tomorrow just for this deal.

        • -1

This deal only provides you 2.5% extra cashback for tcn restaurant card. Or you can choose the restaurant choice gift card which can be used for fastfood.

          • @CmfhlTtU: It'd be more like 4% for me as one account already has $30 Rewards dollars so need to buy $200 worth of TCN to hit $50, another has $10 so $100 TCN to hit $20.

Will probably still buy a $500 variable Restaurant Choice in addition as I rip through these gift cards pretty quick.

      • Can you buy gift cards using rewards dollars?

        • +1

Was going to ask the same.

        • +2

No this is to earn dollars to spend for this deal

          • @Big-Deal: Is that a no to using ww points for gift cards at the register at any time (ie normally this can't be done)?

            • @kickling: Yeah you can't use reward dollars for gift cards

  • +5

this is a terrible promo…. people (me) don't usually save up a lot points as it didn't make any difference…

    • +24

Counterview: this is a good promo.

    • +1

Yeah it doesn't make much sense to store them. Weird promotion and no clue who this benefits.

      • People that "save their points for Xmas" are actually letting them devalue by up to whatever the inflation rate is (3 to 4%~)… Maybe they want to encourage that behaviour and at a large scale it might make them an extra couple of million $?

  • +5

They recently gave us bonus points for switching to bank for Christmas, and now they're giving extra points for using rewards dollars? That means they're asking us not to bank for Christmas anymore?

    • +15

I just swapped out of saving for Christmas, back to Automatic Savings.

      I read the following:

      Who

This offer is available only to Everyday Rewards members with Automatic Savings as their redemption preference at the time of the campaign. Members on Bank for Christmas and Qantas Points redemption are not eligible.

Note the campaign starts on 9 July.

      • +1

        Thanks!
        The most important thing…

      • doesn't make sense to me. are you sacrificing the bonus 5000 pts (from memory) for switching to Bank for Christmas recently for this deal?? I don't think you can be eligible for both at once? please convince me otherwise if I am wrong.

        • bonus points were allocated when you switched and not 5000 for everyone. I got 2000 in February

          • @chrisharry53: ok that makes sense. I got 5000pts ($30) so i guess if your bonus was less, this deal might be better.

            • @foodsnob: You keep those points as far as I know. Switch to auto today.

BTW, only 1 of 4 family members got the Xmas offer this year.

      • Thank for the fine print details @Zippy7. You just saved me wasting $20 of banked dollars due to not being eligible for this due to changing from bank for Christmas after this campaign started. :-)

        • +1

@CL123 This OzBargainer said he switched from Bank for Christmas to Automatic Savings after the campaign started and received the bonus points 3 business days later. Link to comment

Today is the last day of this promo so you can still participate if you want to try see if you get the bonus points also.

          • @Alinnia: Thanks for that info and link @Alinnia. I have just seen your comment now after offer expired so missed out but I appreciate your comment. Better luck next time. :-)

        • +2

I just spoke to support from Everyday Rewards, and members can be eligible if they switch from Bank for Christmas to Automatic Savings after 9 July. Just have to switch before making the qualifying purchase.

          • @BigBTrain: Thanks for looking into it and passing on that info @BigBTrain. I have just seen your comment now after offer expired so missed out but I appreciate your comment. Better luck next time. :-)

      • It's Christmas in July it seems

    • +4

      New financial year book cooking?

  • +1

Are they letting us spend more than $10 per shop or do you have to do 10 shops in that week to spend $100?

    • Seems like it

      How it works
To enjoy this offer you must redeem at least $20 Everyday Rewards dollars in a single transaction in-store at Woolworths or online at woolworths.com.au or via the Woolworths App and scan or link your Everyday Rewards Card before completing your transaction (Qualifying Shop).

  • +4

Huh I never thought to save my dollars. And I don't think I will, even knowing they do something like that

    • +2

Neither, I had my EDR account hacked a few years ago and they spent all my saved dollars off.

Since then I have never trusted WW security to leave dollars sitting there and just spend them immediately

      • +1

You can now lock your points, and you don’t get prompted to use them in Woolworths. I have to note the lock doesn’t work at BWS.

        • Wait what? So you can use the points at BWS even if you have them locked??

  • I saved for Xmas last year but didn’t need to spend it so it just rolled over, currently have $190 banked for Xmas this year

    • +5

Or spend that shit and earn a bit of interest on your cash instead of giving it away to woolies

      • Exactly why they are encouraging this behaviour with promos like this I guess.

    • Post updated. Thanks.

  • +1

Was looking forward to a decent total by Christmas but since I've got over $100 I'll be using it up to get 5000 points back.

  • The self checkouts seem to have stopped the prompts to redeem the $10 so just noticed I have some in the bank

    • +2

That's probably due to a security setting. I have to unlock points in the app before using them.

  • +1

For Automatic savings option, where is 'Unlock now'?
    I can't find it anywhere

Lock your Rewards dollars Toggle below to lock your Rewards dollars when shopping in-store. (Note that they will still be accessible when shopping online at Woolworths, BIG W and BWS).

Using your Rewards dollars To unlock, tap on your Rewards dollars and choose 'Unlock now'. Once unlocked your funds will be available to use after 30 minutes.

Locking Rewards dollars Your rewards will be re-locked automatically after 6 hours. Tap your Rewards dollars to lock sooner.

    • +1

If you're already on Automatic Savings, tap Automatic Savings again and an option should come up asking you if want to lock or unlock your dollars (depending on whether or not they were already locked / unlocked)

      • Is it rewards security toggle button?

        Rewards security
When enabled, your Rewards dollars will be locked and we won't remind you to use them at check-out in-store.

  • +2

Just spent my last 30 rewards dollars today :(

  • I need a boost button that clearly shows whether I’m qualified or not.

  • how would a refunded item work ?

    • Don't think they care about it. Had returned something to big w before, and they didn't take back the points. To do a change of mind returns to woolies however, requires a degree on its own.

  • for those that don't spend too much at woolworths grocery, anyone have any easy ideas on how to spend those reward dollars easily?
gift cards don't seem to be eligible unfortunately

    • +1

I can spend it for you. Can't be easier than that
Just give me a screenshot of the member barcode

    • Fresh meat, fresh chicken bulk packs, fresh fish, Woolies COOK slow cooked foods in cold section (love their lamb shanks!), Red Salmon, EV Olive Oil if on special.

    • How about on expensive stuff - nappies, vitamins, seafood.

  • What can I get from Woolies that is closest to Coles' Porchetta? This thing is so good.

  • End of June Top up to 2000 EDR Points with 1¢ Min Spend was a great way to accumulate Rewards Dollars to spend!
    Topped up accounts with 15,300pts

      • wrong thread?

        • No! Unpublished based on your question.

But is in correct Deal, following on from my previous comment on how to accumulate Rewards Dollars.

          So reinstated with clarification.

          • @INFIDEL: It's just a question. You could just leave it
            Anyway, thanks for the response!

Have posted for years - the benefits of multiple Rewards accounts.
              It really pays off💰

7 of my accounts qualify for this Deal (with R$20-90)🎉
Thanks to Top Up to 2000pt Deal

Arranging shops into $20 per account for bonus 1000pt each. Plus 10X etc. Won't buy more than that across multiple cards - don't have the room.

Shopping only for non-perishable products on Sale. Some are cheaper than Prime Day!

      My weekly spend is ~$50…
      Already spending $50/wk for 4 weeks @Coles for 10,000pt.

Unlikely will use all 7 cards. But good opportunity to use up Rewards Dollars.

  • +1

I just used $50 of rewards points the other day 😞

  • +2

Currently banking for Christmas, better change to 'Automatic Savings ' today so can qualify for this.

  • dang - just read i had to switch from bank to automatic savings before calendar flipped over to 9/7 eastern time. How do you know you're eligible? Ive switched over to automatic savings.

  • Anyone got a booster button for this promo?

    • +1

      No, not me.

If you open the link to this deal, it has a clause that makes me think that there will be no booster:

      Boosting this offer

Boosting this offer is not required to participate in the promotion.

      • +1

        Thanks!

  • Thanks! I was just about to spend $100 rewards dollars today and had switched from bank to automatic savings a few days ago, timing on point..

    • Did you get a booster button for this?

      • +1

Don’t see one, I read somewhere you don’t have to.

        • Thanks!

  • So the bonus pts looks like indeed not instant as no one mentioned it yet.

Anyone received an email for this offer? That means definitely eligible.

    • +1

I received an email for this offer around 10am yesterday.

      • I only have one acc set for auto redeem all the time. As it has no reward dollar balance, it did not receive the email. But someone can score $20 EDR soon by buying gift card this week. Since the promotion lacks thoughts for all possiblities, I won't be bothered with it. In other words, high chance to contact CS later.

        • I saw it from somewhere that you can not buy any gift card with using reward dollar? I might be wrong as I havent tried

          • @reservin: I mean earning $20 EDR very soon by buying TCN Gift this week.

It seems that if you don't have $20 EDR balance around Tuesday, you are not eligible for this promotion.

      • No such email for me. Maybe targeted

        • I did not receive email, but once you login to rewards page then you can find the AD.

  • +3

This offer was listed on the ER App…Big points blitz. It didn't have to be boosted but you would need to switch out of Bank for Christmas before spending ER points for a single shop to qualify.

    • Same in Deal Link!

  • I am late to notice. Just wondering if anyone left their bank for Christmas still going after the 9th as they realised the offer late and switched to "automatic savings" after the promotion started such as on the 9th, 10th, today 11th and tried to do a shop and see if you got the bonus points applied after shopping with points?

    • I was already on automatic savings and still haven't received the bonus points.

      • Yeah thanks for the info. Usually ww EDR bonus points show straight after the qualifying shop for nearly all of the bonuses so this one is behaving differently. Has anyone received bonus points yet? Such as have to wait 2 days and it's there?

        • +1

Usually when it's a promo that's a booster that has been activated, the possible bonus points would appear at the checkout screen or online cart screen (which is great to confirm eligibility).

However, Woolies is doing this promo differently so the points aren't appearing in either of those mentioned situations.

Might need to wait up to 7 business days as it's stated in the T&C, "Bonus points will be available 7 business days after the qualifying shop."

          • @Alinnia: Thanks Alinnia. If you get points earlier please let me know

    • Same, I am late to notice and only switching today - on the last day of the promo.

Did anyone successfully get the bonus points after switching out of Bank for Christmas during the time of the promo itself before making the qualifying shop?

      • Edit with update:

I just spoke to support from Everyday Rewards, and members can be eligible if they switch from Bank for Christmas to Automatic Savings after 9 July. Just have to switch before making the qualifying purchase.

        • Thanks Big B

  • Can someone confirm if this can be clubbed with Extra 10% shop?
If I have a $200 shop and apply the Extra discount to owe $180, if in that $180 I redeem my $50, will i be eligible for the reward-back?

Or there is also an APP offer to get $10 off $150, if I use that promo and redeem reward dollars in 1 online order will I get the cashback?

  • Combine with targeted offers in app, using Rewards Dollars.

    eg
    2000pt for $50 online order by 20/7 = 4500pt. C&C or Delivered.
($50 is final total of order. Excludes OOS items & delivery fees)

+150pts for $15 of eligible pantry productS

    etc

    • would these also stack with 10x for any WW shop?

      • Did that account receive these targeted offers?? If not - No!

  • -1

so can be redeemed multiple times?
