Procedure:

  1. Sign up/register (Don't select or use any discount codes when you sign up)

  2. Select the 2 x 5 meal plan (original box or veg)

  3. Type in your details, delivery details, payment details etc and use the code: FBODRSD

  4. The code will turn your $110 order into $1

  5. Once paid and processed, go ahead and cancel the subscription

Extra Hack: Apparently you can use the same CC details on a new account (ie different email address) and it will work!

    • You can cancel straight away, I did that with my previous orders but because this one is quite sus and there will be so many orders and new accounts, I suggest prob wait until your first order. But you will have to cancel before Tuesday EST.

        • You should be ok to cancel before your 1st delivery. I have ordered 3 times with hello fresh and cancelled before my deliveries, so it should be fine. But this deal is 50/50 with me, they will either honour it or wont.

            • @k3nnis: Why is there the concern about cancelling on a Tuesday? My delivery is set for 27/11, and I've skipped the deliveries for the following two weeks. Shouldn't I be able to try it first and then decide if I want to go ahead with future orders?

    • you can pause future deliveries without cancelling subscription.

      • How do you totally cancel sub?

        • Account settings > Status > Cancel meal plan

    Thanks OP, just signed up and ordered mine. $1 well spent. Delivery on 20/11 though, long enough for them to cancel the order. Lets hope that's not gonna happen.

  • Hmm seems like it got cancelled only a few mins after I ordered. At first it said scheduled in my account now it says no deliveries!

        No I did not! It says I ordered in history but in the my deliveries section - the icon changed from scheduled to no deliveries!

        Edit - I see it now :) Lets hope it all goes well. I'm keen to try them out!

  • I just received email about 'Welcome to HelloFresh' confirming my order details and date of my first delivery. No invoice or confirmation for the delivery itself though. Fingers crossed it turns up. $1 for 4x4 is ripper! Thanks OP.

    I've paused the next couple of weeks to give me time to decide if I want to continue or cancel/block on Paypal.

    Best approach from previous years is to select a delivery day like Saturday or Sunday, then after it's delivered, cancel the subscription before the Tuesday/Wednesday deadline - or don't cancel if you actually appreciate the service.

    If I'm remembering correctly, people who immediately cancelled were refunded, but if you acted like a honest consumer willing to give a new service a try, then you got your $110 box for $1, and then having decided that the meals were oversalted/sweet/oily/carbs and just not your thing, you decided not to continue and cancelled with no hard feelings. I'm interested to see if that's changed since the last box I had in 2016.

    • Nah, all boxes or meals are ingredients. You have to prepare and cook them yourself. You get a recipe card to follow.

        • Yes, I like hello fresh. IMO, i think it's healthy for sure. I keep the recipe cards they give and shop for the ingredients myself.

    If you guys want to cancel your subscription make sure you do it in the timeframe!

    Tip: I suggest to cancel AFTER you got your 1st order. If you're getting your box/order after the cancel timeframe, then you still should be ok to cancel before your delivery (I have ordered 3 times with hello fresh and I have cancelled before my delivery and I still got my 3 boxes) BUT…… take this information as you will. It's your risk to cancel before the delivery as my previous 3 orders were discount orders not free like this and im 50/50 if they will honour the code.

  • They just launched Hello Fresh in NZ where I've moved and there aren't any good deals. I got letter box dropped a coupon SAVEME - but its only $50 and not a free box or anything close. Anyone know of a code I can use that gives a decent discount over here?

    I remember when they launched in Aus there was a huge push with advertising free boxes.

    I signed up for 4x4 Veg :), maybe just paranoid re cancellation, but that way i'm still paying $15, i went in to the calendar and 'skipped' the next 4 weeks after my first delivery, should give me plenty of time to cancel after first delivery :)

    • Depends on your area. But I have had a delivery from the early hours window at about 12:30am, and 9am-6pm window around midday.

      They'll text you a link for tracking so you should get an ETA that updates as they go. Once it got close, started counting down the houses till my delivery arrived so pretty spot on. (Well I only checked the day one, assuming the night ones are the same)

      They'll just leave the box (and there will be a photo of your house and where they left it on the tracking link)

      Anyway, you should be able to change it until Tuesday next week I think, since delivery won't be until the week after.

    • Next door neighbour had theirs stolen from their doorstep during the night after delivery, the box and the veggies were strewn around the park across the road but they kept the meat!

    • You can cancel the paypal recurring payment. This is only for future payments or if they try to take more money. They will only know if you forget to cancel your next order and they try to bill and they can't.

        Was just wondering as post above suggests people who don't cancel on HF site straight away got their boxes. But I thought if they knew people cancelled recurring payments they might not honour either

        • Just a heads up, if payment fails they will send you a box anyway and chase you for the money. It will be less hassle if you can cancel with them directly as well.

    They have cancelled a similar mess up before. They dgaf about screwing over costumers due to their own screw ups.

      So, in those circumstances where HelloFresh has charged $1 to 'new accounts' via the credit card provided, do they refund that if they cancel this promo?
      If not, HelloFresh may very well be rich(er) on the back of all these OzB partakers.

      • The $1 is just a test to check the card, you will get it refunded. Yeah in sure hello fresh is going to be $232 richer with everything that was trying to take advantage of them in the first place of an obvious glitch

    I was charged full amount when I was trying to find a place in the Paypal pop up to add in promo code. The HelloFresh promo code box wasn't working. But customer service have now cancelled my order.

        • Yep I contacted them on the webchat and they actioned straight away. Although I didn't get the refund from Paypal notification until 2 days after.
