It works! Just used it 20 min ago.

Procedure:

  1. Sign up/register (Don't select or use any discount codes when you sign up)

  2. Select the 2 x 5 meal plan (original box or veg)

  3. Type in your details, delivery details, payment details etc and use the code: FBODRSD

  4. The code will turn your $110 order into $1

  5. Once paid and processed, go ahead and cancel the subscription

Extra Hack: Apparently you can use the same CC details on a new account (ie different email address) and it will work!

      Well…. not really their fault. Wasn't a "deal" in the first place. It's just consumers like me and you taking advantage of a glitch, bug, system error, whatever you want to call it. The company can not honour it if they wish.

    Waiting for PayPal to reverse the charge.

    • I think they give the offer to you if you had no intention of cancelling. The meals on the accounts that I cancelled the subscription plan for were cancelled, but they honoured the deal for the accounts I didn't cancel.

        I didn't cancel my subscription plan, but skipped a couple of weeks, mine got cancelled

        • I think its also based on if your have ordered with them before. Mine is active and I have never ordered with them however my mums got cancelled and had ordered a box in the past.

        • I used about 5 accounts, but they got all got cancelled. too bad. I'm not sure whether i need to fight to get my 5 bucks back though

    When I look at my delivery calendar that for the week I selected it says no delivery and where you see your invoice it says CONTACT. Anyones actually go through.

    I got my $1.00 refund which they charged on my PayPal but in my account says delivery scheduled on Monday 19 Nov. I also skipped next 3 week and I am actually first time customer with them.

    I think they are checking address, if it's new first time, they may honour it.

    I have never tried it before and my order is still active.

    When I look at my order history it says cancelled and it says You'll get your last delivery on Sat, Nov 17. Does this mean they will bill me $130???

    Update: mine now says refunded on the status. What is the difference between refunded and cancelled ?

      Refunded: they cancelled your order and refunded you.
      Cancelled: they cancelled your order and robbed your $1.

      • No need to downvote. I was asking a question since the $1 is only a pending authorisation charge anyways. I know the difference but I meant in terms of hellfresh?!

  • Yep I just got refunded aswell. I will surely be telling them to delete my account and remove my data from their systems! I suggest everyone else to do the same.

    Edit: Just spoke to customer service. Although it says refunded in my account - they said they can confirm I have a delivery coming! LOL I'm so confused…

  • Order says cancelled, fair enough, but they have not refunded the $9.95 shipping charge to the credit card.

    Mine was cancelled. I asked in chat why it had been cancelled. They apologised and gave me a box for the next week. Blamed a glitch on the cancellation.

      How did you get to chat? I think I'll need to contact them to get the $9.95 refunded. When I click "contact" on my cancelled order nothing happens.

        • Found the Chat, I had to turn off the Adblocker.

          So when I asked why they cancelled my order, they said the code was no longer valid, and I have been refunded $9.95 on 9/11/2018.

          It's not on my Credit card statement but she said it could take 5-7 days to appear.

          No box for me. Oh well was worth a try. Congrats on your box.

  • How do you know if your box has been cancelled?

      Go to your account settings, order history. It should show the status of your order.

      I didn't get any emails or anything.

      • I went there it said it was cancelled but chat said my order is still scheduled for delivery…

        That's a bit sneaky! I wouldn't have found that otherwise… meanwhile, my meals are still 'in my box' and my subscription is active. Are they going to email everyone?

          Actually, it doesn't say cancelled, it just says 'contact us'. They have refunded the $1 from PayPal, but that was just an authorisation check.

            I don't understand my code being invalid now, when it was perfectly valid when I ordered and they charged my Credit Card.

            And now they have My name, address, birthday, phone number and credit card number.

            I feel like an idiot.

    Just contacted customer service through chat as my order also says ‘contact’, code is not being honoured. Refunds all round to the peeps that paid for shipping :( Was looking forward to my free meals.

    So I spoke with chat again, worried they have my whole identity - Name, Address, email, Phone, Birthday, Credit card with security number etc.

    They said they deleted it on the spot.Looks good, I can no longer log in.

    I will check CC for any charges from them in the future.

    Oh well. Good luck to those that got a box, you still gotta cook it.

  • My calendar now says “no delivery” for the week I had “paid” for. But I haven’t received any information on it being cancelled or refunded.

    Received a follow up that my order is cancelled and the best they could offer is $25 off my next 2 deliveries LOL. Gonna make sure they delete everything they know of me.

        Mine was still active and they still cancelled it. As long as they do the refund and remove all details, no harm, no foul.

        What were we actually expecting. At 79yrs old I thought I would try it and continue to make life easier. They don't want my money.

    Order was cancelled and did not receive any compensatory code like others here. Was told that it was stated on the voucher itself that each household is entitled to only 1 discount box regardless of the order name. Sucks if you rent and move into a place that previously had a subscription I guess.

    They deactivated my account and no email from them. They also charged $1 on my cc.
    This whole experience is a bit disappointing. I never ordered from hellofresh before and I genuinely wanted to try its service. I’m fine they are not honouring the deal but I’m not ok when they don’t communicate. Will never give it a try in the future.

    I understand that they have decided to cancel/deactivate the account BUT the failure to send an email is poor customer service.

    An email with an apology that they cannot honour the deal is acceptable but complete silence is not ok.

    Not happy at all.

  • Another account deactivation and cancellation with no notification

    The chat rep said the code was "invalid" as it did not come from Hello Fresh. I asked if there systems were accepting random codes and she said it was a "valid code, it was just not generated from Hello Fresh"

    I told her they need to hire some competent IT resources or come up with better excuses. I also politely declined the 20% off for 2 weeks offer, as I'm not keen to do business with companies that cancel orders without notification or communication.

    Never used them previously due to the cost, now I have another reason to avoid

    They replied saying this offer was for new customers only and I am a existing customer

      They are just making excuses instead of admitting they made mistake and can’t honour the code. I’m new customer as well, they cancelled my delivery and deactivated my account without me knowing. I never ordered before and I’m sure my address is never used to receive order from them as I have lived st my current address for many years.

    So I'm going to see what happens i reckon. A box might still show up…

      yep. I decided to not request a refund to see if they deliver the items first.

      looks worse for them if you purchase something and it isn't received, rather then buyer requesting refund.

    Went on chat online, they said it appears you have ordered under this address before? Told them No I haven't they updated with the billing team and said my order will be scheduled for the next week 26th and the first box will be free.

    delivery scheduled for 21st. i'm holding minimal hope but it's not cancelled yet!

    I was willing to try it and at least get another box if I liked it. But it was just weird excuses from support.

    Time will tell.

    • well thought-out meal options

    I think those that got in early, were honoured, then ozbargained etc were cancelled. Fair enough but poor form not having at least an automated email telling customers their order was cancelled.

    • could be new customers getting honored and those with duplicate details were cancelled? possibly? or liek you said they honored the first x amount
