Slow Cooker Banquets 7L $59 ($60 off w/ Stovetop/Oven Ready Tray) & 5.5l $44 ($45 off)

40

Two slow cooker deals, one secret deal and one in the Target catalogue for later this week (not yet promoted instore)

** 1. Bellini 7L banquet slow cooker w. removable tray **
This is again on sale, just after the last OzB listing. You may remember is was in this deal, late March/April. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/42010

This time it's $59, down $60 from $119. This was at Hornsby, NSW.

Bellini appears to be Target's own brand and it looks like this is next week's cheap deal. Lasoo search link for when it appears: http://www.lasoo.com.au/category/crock-pots-slow-cookers-0.h…

Today it's not advertised at this price but scanned down to $59, so get in now if you are looking for a larger (wider) slow cooker that has the removable pan.

Banquet slow cookers:
I only know of Breville and Cuisinart that sell a similar searing (removable) banquet slow cooker here. At best you will see secondhand ones selling for ~$100 if you are lucky. Both 'brands' are $199 rrp and the best price I could find for either was around $160.
So the no-brand generic Target 'Bellini' special should suffice, since these slow cookers are very simple.

(I only got this because I returned another Target product this arvo and just scanned this in case it was reduced. Happy that it was!)

Please vote if you like slow cookers & food bargains, haha.

** 2. Ronson (always Ronson promos!) $44 mini banquet slow cooker **
$44 is over 50% off but I still like the 7L design better.
Bang for buck this may be better since you get ~$10-15 freebies. Great gift I guess…

These wide square units might allow larger cuts of meat or serve as more versatile units since they can be used as banquet food warmers. :) I like them better than the round or oval crock pot style since they are more versatile.

Marketed as a Mothers Day deal with some freebies. Vote if you like slow cookers with freebies!!

    It's $59, down $60 from $19.

    What?

    • Fixing that. $119->$59, save $60. Thanks!

I saw a few people walking around Target with slow cookers today! Must be a good deal!

The Ronson one that the Mods just deleted was smaller but cheaper.

Find it on lasoo.com.au - a Ronson banquet slow cooker for $44. :)

I still think this one's more versatile for me. However the Ronson looks similar and has five slow cooker bonus packs. Probably worth up to $15 for those, so a nice bonus.

Like I've said elsewhere, Target promotes this stuff every few weeks. :)

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble… This same cooker was $49 at the start of April!!

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/42010

But for now… That is a good price. I bought one and it's great. Nice BIG pan..

    • I linked that exact link at the top of my post, since it's only a recent deal here.

Since I'd not seen anyone with a positive review, I passed on that offer and then regretted not getting it, since it returned to $119. Caution since it's a house brand.

There are only the Breville and Cuisinart in this 7L banquet size, AFAIK, so this is a good deal at the moment, compared to the alternatives.

For anyone only semi-interested, you will likely see the sales come up fairly regularly.

I'm just surprised it's returned so quickly - and I could use this offer when returning a faulty electric blanket. :)

Still a secret deal in stor since it's not yet in the catalogue.

Tell me if you find a better deal in a 7L size. I really tried and the best I found was secondhand at $100!

    • So it works well? You recommend it?
No remorse about not getting the Breville (or if you are brave, the Cuisinart)?

That's much more valuable info than what I've posted. If it's a good product. It looks OK, so hopefully it is.

I like that it can be used as a pan to sear the meat in, before slow cooking. Do you do this? :)

It does work well… but I have only had it for like 3 weeks… Used it only twice.. So not sure if I can fully recommend it! But I did sear some meat on it… made it extra tasty, effective and didn't have to mess another pan.. Perfect!

        • That's the info I needed, thanks.
Searing and getting an improved taste was the thing that made me want to get either this one or the Breville this model appears to clone. :)

  • Merged the $44 Ronson deal into the bottom of this deal, as requested.

If you just want the absolute cheapest possible used or unloved slow cooker, get onto gumtree.com.au or old person garage sales. Council cleanups if you are totally broke and without transport! :)

If you want a range of cookers from then look on ebay.com.au.

If you want to check out lots, go to a Westfield since you will likely be able to see most or all that are on the market, if you get the department stores plus discount department stores and specialist shops.

If you want recipes or discussion on slow cookers, there's plenty on google, including some forum thread discussions locally, plus Choice reviews of a couple of brands.

Vote if you use your slow cooker. Do people get sick of them or do they use them every winter? :)

  • I love my slow cookers. Got 4 of them, & use them for making 24-hour Stock, all the time:)
    So good.

    • Since you say you're 100% into slow cooking…do you sear the meat in a frypan or the tray(for ones like the 7L models like this) before slow cooking?

Do you ever use a large one for extra large cuts of meat?

Your post is making me hungry!

      • I sear the meat in the Turbo Convection Oven first, then transfer it into the slow cooker with all the juices, herbs, etc.
