Isn't Sony just rebranded LG panel?
The Sony A8F is a LG panel with Sony's image processing circuitry which is said to be superior. To be honest I don't think you'll notice a big difference between the two. The Sound would be a lot better on the Sony though.
Is the 55" Sony A8F also an LG panel? Was after a LGE8 but all out of stock or display stock only.
Only thing worrying me is the Android TV on the Sony.
@HelpWanted: Yeah from what I've read they're all using LG OLED panels. You can always get a nvidia Shield if the TV's built in smart features are too laggy.

If I'm paying a LARGE whack for a TV I'd like it to be at least a bit 'smart' and responsive.
The 2019 LG OLED's look promising with the new Gen 2 A9 chips. I think I'll wait a while.

x90F is LCD/LED (not OLED) albeit with proper FALD, its probably the best LED you can get.
but for me, OLED still blows it away
They all have good pictures tbh (with oled being a cut above but not night and day imo) I just worry that the B8/A8F aren't bright enough.
OLED is best apart from in brightly lit rooms where you'd want Sony X9 or Samsung Q9.

B8 has better input lag and operating system. A8 has better gray uniformity and supports 1440P input.

Never commented or posted so hopefully this is not been mentioned. The same tv can be purchased with click and collect on the bing lee ebay sale for a smidge under $2528.00, not a massive saving but it’s worth it if you can pick up.
