  • Is this the cheapest/best 4-6tb you can get in this price range for a desktop pc?

    • +1

Not suitable for a desktop PC unless you are OK with a lot of noise.

these Toshiba's have a fail rate, aint that cheap anymore, and should be approached with caution

    • +2

All disks have a failure rate …

      • -1

yep and it goes up and down according to fails reported - but these have one of note.

pathetic negs dominate this site these days….so why does anyone bother trying to help

        and the 6tb were 112 last year…

        • I'd just like to add that you may be right in this case. Toshiba is quite a reputable brand in hard and solid state drives. That said, its not infallible - this range does have a higher than normal one and 2 star reviews which indicate higher than normal failure rates, so its best to read and understand the issues with this specific range of drives before buying

  • Aw looks like this deal on the 5TB and the 8TB ended within an hour of me posting =(
The 6TB has a 24 hour flash sale for $134.29 USD but that's not that great.
    I'll mark this as expired.

    • Yes, if you're willing to shuck the drive or just need an external hard drive, this is the best deal per GB currently available

  • I noticed the deals but just to note all that these drives did have quite a few one, two and three star ratings - please read this before you buy to know whether these work for you
