Custom Website Development from $599, Limited Time from Galactic Code. Aust Wide, Joomla CMS

35

Hi all, I am a freelance web developer and a big Oz Bargain fan.

I have been recently looking to expand my client base and decided to offer a discount to fellow Oz Bargain followers.

I have set up a specific page for this promotion so take a look for more details: http://www.galacticcode.com/ozbargain

I have specifically listed two of my most popular packages but if neither of those options suit your needs then get in touch and I am happy to offer a similar discount on other solutions.

As I am a freelancer you will get my personal touch and my work is all performed to the highest quality. I don't use templates and I don't use instant website builders. My designs are custom developed and hand coded, built on proven open source platforms such as Joomla, Drupal, OpenCard and MyBB, not made with a WYSIWYG editor. Considering this it would be hard to find any other companies offering similar quality web design for such a low price.

Prices exclude hosting, domain names, etc. because I don't host my clients, therefore your not locked into me and can use any host you like. Typically hosting costs are $100 - $200 per year.

If you have any questions feel free to get in touch.

Cheers, Tim.

So the bargain is, you've lowered the MINIMUM charge for any work you do from 699 to 599 ?

  • -4

Your still getting the same work for $599 that you would otherwise get for $699, that includes:
    * All the design work
    * Installation of Joomla and template development
    * Configuration of the pages & menus including any CSS work related to marking up the content
    * Configuration of hosting including email addresses if necessary
    * Installation and configuration of contact form and slideshow modules including integrating them into the design

I just wanted everyone to know that Joomla is a FREE, open-source CMS that is EXTREMELY easy for even a novice to use. A basic website as described by the OP would only take a couple of hours work.

The OP is going to disagree with me, of course, but I just wanted everyone to know that you don't really have to pay $599 to get a Joomla-based website up and running.

Your right, if you know what your doing installing Joomla doesn't take long but the service that I offer is a lot more than installing Joomla, it is consulting with the client to find a solution for their needs, designing a website to their branding and target market, coding it then integrating it into Joomla. The reason I use Open Source software is that it is well proven, secure and offers a high degree of functionality, and I contribute back to the open source community myself. There are few proprietary CMS systems that are as functional and extensible as Joomla, and if you need something more specific than Joomla can offer then I can custom develop the back end software using PHP and the Yii PHP framework.

I'm not selling Joomla, I am selling my services and Joomla is a tool I use.

If your happy to go and get a premade template and set it up on Joomla in only a few hours then you don't need the services I offer, but if you take your business seriously and want something unique and suited to your requirements then I can help.

    not a bargain

Tim, after a quick look through your website and those of your clients, I would also suggest you hire a proofreader

      • +2

Not that i am a grammar nazi but, even his replies are ridden with grammatical errors..

        • -3

Yeah, just mentally replace your with you're. I can't edit that now unfortunately. As for my client's sites, the content is provided by them and they often edit it frequently so that shouldn't necessarily reflect upon me.

Plus, I am offering my services as a developer, not a copywriter. Grammar doesn't have much effect on my code ;)

    "I don't use templates"
    This is total b.s.

another ferretallica intelligent and happy comment

    • What do you have to support this claim? I am happy to provide the HTML design of the website before I converted it into a Joomla theme and a copy of the PSD source to any client who doubts their design was designed and coded by me.

  • Why has @Jean-Baptisie's comment been downvoted, he's pointing out you are paying for a service that is easy to set up for free on your own, there are also a ton of free joomla templates available that are easy to download and install, if you want something unique hire a designer for a theme, you should be able to get it cheaper than this.
Also the http://moddroid.com/ website in your portfolio does not work for me…. (main reason to neg)

    • 80% of what your paying for is the theme design, and I doubt you can find anyone reputable in Australia to design you a Joomla theme for cheaper than this, sure if you want to outsource to another country then you could probably find plenty of people who will do it for $5/hour but my rates are very reasonable for an Australian developer, especially with the $100 off I'm offering.

Also, I'm not sure why http://moddroid.com/ isn't working for you: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/http://moddroid.com/

Not all Joomla sites should be run with free or paid templates.

Its got voted down and voted up, its the net result.

Same reason that you voted the deal down and voted his comment up. People have personal dislikes, as well as genuine reasons for negging a deal and a comment.

      Understand how the site works.

I see this more of an ad then a bargain… unfortunately, its getting more common around here

    • Seems to depend if its tech related. If Pauls Gutter Cleaning listed on here, all your gutters cleaned, normal price $100, for Ozbargain $86 just mention this ad, it would get canned in a milisecond.

  • Perhaps this would be better suited to the forums, at least for now. Get a better feel for the expectations of people here and whether or not this is considered advertising before posting to the hoard.

I've seen these guys (or similar) on here before. This is pretty much a scam. All they are doing is slapping some opensource software/snippets together with stock photographs. It would take them 2 hours to set up a website with content, if that. Definitely not worth half a thousand dollars.

    • What do you mean? Your entirely failing to account for the effort involved in developing the design, coding it and turning the coded page into a theme for the software. As I have said before, I am a legitimate developer and I develop my designs by hand and individually for each client. There are NO premade templates involved, and I am NOT one of those dodgy companies who passes off templates to clients as original work.

It's sad that the practice of dodgy companies charging high prices for utilizing premade templates has bred such distrust within the industry.

I can assure you, my work is the real deal.

Do you have any proof that this is what the OP is doing, or is this a generalisation?

I don't understand the posts calling this guy a fraud. If you don't think the deal is a bargain, fine, but why all the unsupported accusations of dodginess?

And your evidence for this defamatory claim?
