  They want to charge $4 US for shipping. I guess they've only just started charging the $4, so I gave this a miss.

  Not a big deal, as I probably won't own any devices that use type C for at least a few more years anyway.

          @JD9151: I wasn't complaining. I was was just posting about my experience. I went buy it and I was being charged for shippng and as a result I thought the deal had finished. It turns out I was wrong and I just overlooked the discount code.

    Got gocoom from gear best and they are good. Just that the one i have has its branding at the usb c end and i cannot see that on this one from the pics

  I bought one of these gocomma 1m USB C cables when they were on sale last time.
  It didn't charge my phone unless it was pushed in really firmly.
  I got fed up with getting the connection to work that I ended up throwing the cable away.

      I kinda thought the cable I received was slightly faulty, but because I only bought one I couldn't determine if just the one I had was a problem or this brand of cable were all of poor quality.

    I use this (same model but not USB C) to flash my nodemcu (which is essentially transfer of data from PC to controller) so I assume it can be used for data transfer too.

  Just received this cable, and turns out it's Not USB 3.1 at all.

  It's USB 2.0 only.

  If you look in the USB plug, the conductors for USB 3.1 are entirely missing!

  You really do get what you pay for sadly.
