    Which airline?

      sorry not clear.
I`m looking for mobile phone - samsung s10

      • Yeah just kidding.

You will probably find some on ebay. Maybe wait a bit.

  • Please search, top right corner search box

  • Wait for an Optus family and friends deal to get 25% off. Otherwise, Harveys seem to be always offering gift cards for new sign ups

    • I'm currently on this with a $75 ($58) S8 plan that's expiring in 2months or so. Planning to roll-over the same repayments but with the s10. Anyone know if and when the optus F&F deal normally becomes available?

Just out of curiosity, why the rush to get a phone that's yet to be officially released in Australia..?

Not having a go, genuinely interested.

    • +2

That's the plan. Lure in people who can't afford it at RRP and make them desperate to get it.

      • +8

Plenty of people here can easily afford RRP, but paying RRP simply goes against their core OzB beliefs.

        • Correct. The smarter people will now buy second hand s9 from not so smart people who upgrade their s9 to s10

        • I agree

          • @dematri: Or if you have the Coles credit card, buy now and get the free earbuds and claim the price reduction back over the next 2 years. Buy from Amazon and get at least 5% back from cash rewards too.

and if anyone here works for ferrari, bombardier or cartier and wants to help me out with a family discount. maybe i could be your daddy? it would really help.

    • +3

Sugar daddy or just normal daddy?

The phone hasn’t even been released.

The likelyness of discounts soon is pretty slim. Maybe around tax time.

Also FYI most people aren’t going to share their employee discount codes as they’d be risking their jobs

    • thanks for the update

mwhahahahaha phone isn't even released yet. Wishful thinking and lots of dreaming for discounts already

    • +1

You do realize discounts are already available, right? They're available to people who work with certain companies.

You can also get 5% off the ex-gst price (so about $61) at Amazon in the form of CashRewards cashback.

Which the OP isn't part of any.

        • Hence this post. Nothing too wishful or dreamy with asking. Some people can be helpful.

          • @eug: Yes wishful thinking indeed…..

  • Surprised there's not an OzB group for this, the discount on top of line s10+ is like $350, bit of room in there for tips and donations and both come out in front.

This deal has me incredibly angry. My negative votes have been "revoked", my comments have been downvoted to hell - because I dared to say that a TARGETED deal like this shouldn't be celebrated by the OzBargain community. I needed to buy a phone TODAY - my phone now has a three hour battery life, and its life is getting shorter with each charge (to the point it's now discharging faster than a portable powerpack can charge it - and I've been desperately trying to price match phones with no luck.

If I purchased a Samsung phone today, knowing that somebody else paid $200-300 less than I did for the exact same phone, I would resent the purchase for years. I'd be reminded that I wasted money every time I picked up the phone! I value the little money I have, and I really, REALLY hate wasting it.

    • +1

      This isn't a deal though. ;)

Anyway, I think it's a legit deal as the number of people who qualify for it is quite large. If the community didn't think it was worthwhile, they wouldn't have upvoted it. So it looks like the community has a different opinion to you.

I value the little money I have,

Shouldn't you just get a cheaper phone then? The Pocophone F1 or OnePlus 6T are pretty good value.Or even an S9.

      • +1

I have the money, but I don't like to unnecessarily spend it. I wasn't even interested in the S9+ until I thought I could get it at $740. Someone posted up a receipt from Officeworks, I spent the morning calling up stores around Sydney until I found one who - after printing that exact receipt from the barcode number over the phone, and confirming that they could absolutely price match that receipt - had me travel an hour (and through some tolls) to tell me that because that very receipt didn't have the name of the competitor on it that they couldn't honour the deal. Now this - knowing that, no matter how good a price I can find, someone's getting it much cheaper - would have me absolutely resent the purchase.

If I purchase a cheaper phone, I would still expect to be getting it for the best possible price. If it were 30% cheaper a month ago for a single day, that would be the cap price on which I'd be willing to purchase that phone. Anything less, and I would resent myself for wasting money.

Maybe you should just get a credit card with price protection. You'll be a lot less stressed out that way. :)

  • Dematri were you able to find anyone working for Samsung? I'm also interested as last year I was able to get the S9 64gb for $770ish with the preorder bonus + 10k qantas points, this year chances of getting a bargain look crap

    • None…
However, Goodguys is offering 10% discount.
