Not a bad price. Harvey Norman currently have them 2 boxes for $40 for comparison (but I haggled it down to $15 each)

We buy the generic (not Miele) bags from ebay (see link below) currently $24.22 for 15 including free delivery.

    • Thanks

    • Is it good? Some website suggest to use branded over generic.

Yep, no difference at all in my opinion, can definitely recommend - actually I got this myself from a post in OzBargain quite a while ago. In regards to generic vs brand use, I think this is part of business marketing strategy, but of course each case should be assessed on its merits and risk. Anyhow, being out of warranty on my miele (>2 years old), with the savings made I can justify changing to a new bag sooner rather then waiting till the full one is about to explode and thus I'm hopefully extending the life of the motor. I should mention I do use an optional miele Hepa filter (with charcoal filter) and I think that's certainly a good bit of kit worth changing twice a year if you love your lungs.

        • thanks. I will give it a go. Which hepa filter do you use?

          • @adn: the type which bruc3 posted a link for below.

            • @2048addict: Thanks for all the info. Do you buy a generic hepa filter or the miele branded one? And the bags are out of stock from the link you posted. Would similar looking ones from other ebay sellers be just as good to use?

              • +1

@Rodo: Glad the info is useful, a drop in the ocean compared to the savings and laughs OzB has given me over the years. So to answer your quest, I buy the miele brand filter as although it's pricey I expect there is more QA in the manufacturing process under licence then say for a generic, thus filtration must be better. That's my unscientific rationale anyway but basically with one of those filters on board I can't smell the dust and crap sucked up n the bag like I can without using a filter or with a cheaper vac. Secondly, bummer the bag out-of-stock for that seller, sorry I cant recommend another this is the only one I've used, I assume you could find another similar generic bag which would be just as good, and maybe look at the review score on there.

                • @2048addict: Thanks again for all the info. I think I might try out a generic branded filter and see how it goes and will look for a seller that has good reviews to get the bags. Cheers.

      • I buy the generic ones now as well. Performs just as well as the original IMO.

  • Will this fit the s8310 model? I've looked around and some websites say it's suitable, but this one doesn't list it in the compatibility list.

  • Does this come with one of these filters?

      No, they are sold seperately

    • As if. One of those alone is $32 from that very link.

      • Yeah I had no idea how expensive these little things were, the HEPA (white) version is even more expensive round $50~

        • +1

I bought a 3 pack of the HEPA (white) filters from ebay, list price $90, but I got 12% off last week. Excellent price. Works out to be $26.40 each. When the parcel arrived, it was from Amazon which confused me. The seller ended up being these guys here. They use Amazon stock to fulfill an ebay order.
