Lots of reviews are saying "Fake" on Amazon. hmmm

    • +1

Atleast it'll come quickly…. and you can return if necessary…

Meanwhile I waited for over 2 months with Joybuy on their 400gb offer, and it didn't leave China for 6 weeks and got lost once it hit Australia. 2.5 months for nothing. First up order too.

      • Weird, I got mine within 2 weeks from that cyber Monday deal.

      • Unlucky, mine came in around a week and I think it was a little cheaper than this one by a couple of bucks.

Wasn't fake either, I checked the code on the Sandisk website.

      • Exactly same with me… have to chase it up now….

        • I had to remind them their policy on their website says 60 days or refund…. Took a loooong time.

81% 5 star here, most 1 stars (fakes) seem to refer to 3rd party sellers and not Amazon.com directly. Backed by good amazon customer service too if any issues arise.

      • +2

Yep "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com" means its a safe bet! Amazon are great when things do go wrong too.

        • +5

Amazon co-mingles inventory though, if the fakes are coming from a "fulfilled by Amazon" seller like the reviews indicate, the safety net is in Amazon's support. You can still end up getting a fake.

          • @TheContact: Really? Do you have a source for that? Mixing up that inventory seems very dangerous from a business stand point!

            • @callum9999: It's so they can ship it and get it to the customer faster.

Found a fairly recent article about Amazon fakes that mentions Amazon admits the practice of co-mingling in the marketplace, but I'm not sure if it includes "shipped and sold by Amazon" products. That said, the article also has a manaufacturer saying that Amazon is buying fakes themselves.

              https://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-amazon-…

The meaty allegations are towards the end.

      • Fake or no fake still can burn and melt. This is the only card that can burn which I used in my life

        • +1

Wha? Did your card melt when used?

          • @Loopholio: Yes it almost killed my SDCard slot of my Canon 80D.

This card is only good for the Switch, I wouldnt use on high speed camera etc

  • +1

Wow best price ever. I'd love one of these however I'm sure that the price is dropping because of recent entry of 512gb cards from multiple vendors.

    • +1

      And 1TB cards just announced.

  • +3

These are perfect for the Nintendo Switch.

    • +1

I've filled a 256gb. Will wait for the 512 to drop a bit.

      • Have filled a 400gb, waiting for 1TB at a reasonable price

    • Kicking myself that I got the 200GB just a few months ago for $60.

      • +19

Kicking myself that I got the 16Mb one just a few years ago for $60 too.

        • +1

No one will ever need more than 640KB they said.

        • I'll bet it was a bargain then though

        • "just a few years ago"?

18 years ago in Tokyo, 128mb for price of aussie 64mb… $147

        • I paid $500 for a 1GB card 14 years ago…

    • I put a 128gb patriot in mine. Says it's 1.28gb kinda thing.

Same card I've used for years on many different devices.

My 512gb Lexar micro sd card was bought at this price, perfect for Switch using.

  • would this suitable for the Samsung S10?

    • Yes. It's cheap extra storage if you need it. It writes at 50MB/s for me which should be enough for 4K.

  • +1

Edit: nah looking into it a usb hdd would be a better option

    • That will work really well in a phone.

    • I'd never have guessed.

I see it $123.89. Deal expired?

    • So do I

    • https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820173374&ignorebbr=1&source=region&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAUAdwords-Global-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAUAdwords-Global-PC--pla--Memory+%28Flash+Memory%29-_-N82E16820173374&gclid=Cj0KCQiAh9njBRCYARIsALJhQkEMjV4Hc2XpTBjPZVVyOhxZHfB7D22Pioi6bihWuBuLOwKUuUIL0_waArS7EALw_wcB

this one is $88 plus shipping

edit: I'm pretty sure this is how the Amazon resellers make an item "hot". They possibly used the newegg deal, threw a couple of dollars on top of it and made it a #1 best seller through extremely low price. Now pumped up the price and are making $10-20 a pop + have exposure to all their items in the store by proxy. Can't hate the hustlers though, good on them.

      • Yeah, actually it's $96 inc. GST plus shipping. Still a good price though.

        https://imgur.com/a/qXAyNYi

      • Ordered 2 128 gigs cards from newegg end of last year still not delivered disappeared in customs when they hit Australia never again newegg.

  • AUD123.89 @ amazon when I click the link … so the amount under $100 is in USD? or the sale is ended?

Be aware that SanDisk ultra A1 range is known to burn. I had a 200GB A1 and it burnt inside my DSLR camera. I successfully claimed a replacement but not the A1 range. I got A2 instead which isn't popular atm

This is after they checked its a geniune card and I ensured that it was compatible with my Canon 80D

    • Whoa, was that for video? And the 80D doesn’t even do crazy high bitrate 4K shooting.

      • Didn't even get to it, as soon I powered and tried to browse. I smell something burning and I actually got my fingertips burnt as well.

I was hurt, it was so hot then the entire plastic outing was melt and was close to melting the SD Card slot

I would go for Samsung from now

I've shown the Sandisk Rep, they asked for the serial number and image. I asked for compensation. They verified its a geniune card and it burnt and apolgised to me

to make up, they sent me a 256GB A2 card, rather than the same 200GB A1 because I insisted that I would get the same card and same symptoms

If you are going to use this card, don't use it on high demanding cameras that's for sure.

Portable consoles and smartphones are probably ok. The quality is not there

    • I put this in my dash cam and actually survived the summer heat + 24 hours recording. Granted it has just been 3 months, lets see after a year

      • I had it after 1.5 years lets see…

    • Last USB stick deal had people stating that the drives got very hot and died within a few months, also made my SanDisk (Western Digital).

I'll be avoiding this brand. Any suggestions on someone better?

        seagate lmao
