I got this offer in the mail today. Pre-order $59 a month for 50/20 for first 6 months, due in May 2019. Using promo code HYPEDUP20

NBNCo say I will get HFC (which is what I have already with Telstra). Can I still use my Telstra Cable Modem or do I need to buy one off Aussie? I think Exetel provide free modem which could make things cheaper. Anyone had experience moving from Telstra HFC to NBN?

May be worth noting I also have foxtel which runs over HFC. Got a splitter in my roof.

    • Why use NBN when u have cable?
Thought cable is way faster and stable

      • I wish i could but optus forces me to move to NBN, and i think Telstra may do the same. Although since he is getting HFC then he should be fine with speeds. I have to move from optus cable 100mbps to FTTN, so i will actually go backwards in speed :(.

It is. But you have to get off Optus/Telstra cable and move to NBN HFC so that you can get less than what you have now for more money - Liberal government.

Yes, as soon as I found out it was re-using HFC it made me sad, as it's a shared medium and they're basically just increasing users so my speed will go down.. for more money. Great.

      • if ur happy with 2mbps peak hour speeds then fine use cable
