Seems too good to be true

    • +3

I called them and they confirmed the price is correct.

      • Aus stock?

        • +3

They weren't able to confirm. The young lady is checking and will call back in a couple of hours (??).

        • +1

The model code is Australian. This has to be a price error.

        • Warranty: 1 Year Manufacturer's return to base

Most likely is grey import. AU stock would have 2 years wty

      • Are they new? Seems an amazing price for a new s9 plus!

        • +1

Yes, she told me they are brand new. If they are re-furbished, it will say so.

  • +1

    Brand new?

  • +1

    Officeworks price match?

    • I've checked. OW don't have Coral Blue.

      • thanks mate

  • +4

    It is just sooooooooo cheap

  • +4

Wow if this is new. Even if its grey.
    Im buying

    • +1

The sales attendant confirmed it is brand new.

    • +3

Well silly me got caught up in the excitment,

      Ordered one!

And i dont even need one!
      Got a perfectly functioning s8+

      • +1

You can most likely still sell your used S8+ for close to this price if in excellent condition and still has a bit of warranty. Nice little upgrade

        with extended warranty.

        • +2

          agree!

if only my order is honoured!

but not looking likely at all :(

      • Love my s9+. It's a great phone

  • any shop back cash rewards?

  • +1

That's really good. I sold my used S8 for that price about 2 months ago.

  • I hope it's Australian stock…. Great price.

    • Noob question - what's the difference between Australian stock and international stock?

  • +1

    Surely its grey

  • +1

I don't need it but for $500, that's dirt cheap!

  • impossible

  • they trustworthy?

  • hope not a fake site!

    • +1
    • They've been around for a while and I've ordered from them without issues.

    • They work in the same building as me so not fakes

  • -2

    More like surely it's a scam….

    • +1

Pay using Paypal… if you don't get it, file a dispute…

    • +1

      The store is legit.

    • -1

Sure downvote me - totally viable that a company would be selling a recent model Samsung phone at 50% off… enjoy the stuff around getting your refund ;)

      • getting your refund ;)

A scammer will not give you a refund - that's the whole point of scamming people. So now you admit you were wrong in your original post saying it's a scam?

        • Yes I was wrong with my word choice - so it's an obvious price error, where the company was giving the wrong advice to people saying it was legitimate - kinda sounds a bit scammy to me…..I wouldn't be buying anything from them as they don't sound like they have much idea what they are doing!

          • @dahax77: OK that's fair enough. To me it looks more like a case of an incompetent staff member. I would still buy from them as it certainly doesn't look like it was done on purpose. Everybody makes mistakes.

Surely everyone understands that when a price seems far too good to be true, it probably isn't? They shouldn't expect their order to be fulfilled, but might try their luck anyway knowing full well that refunds will usually take a while. It's Price Errors 101.

          • +2

@dahax77: I think the term scam fits, but from the suggested SEO scammyness

  • just bought a phone but tempted to jump on this

  • Just checking as in the description it has;
Warranty: 1 Year Manufacturer's return to base

But at the bottom of specs, it has 2 years….which is samsung warranty.

So, either 1 or 2 years? OR does it mean one year return to where you bought it and second year samsung?

  • omg!

  • +7

pulled the trigger. will report back with updates.

    • +7

      short lived. order cancelled.

  • If it is a grey import, can you flash the AU firmware on it to get Samsung pay working?

    • Don't believe so, starting with the S9 series Samsung blocked installation of other region firmwares. Found this out while trying to get wifi calling working on my father in law's grey import S9.

So unless something has changed since a few months ago, No.

      • They don't block firmwares, phones are basically sold with all global variants so you don't need to change the firmware.

Google how to change the sales code.

        • So you reckon you can get wifi calling working on an S9 or newer that has a non Australian CSC? There wasn't a way a few months ago…

          • @Binchicken22: It's always been possible on the OXM multi CSC family phones.

            1) Dial *#272*IMEI#
            2) You will see your current CSC mentioned plus all other CSCs of OXM 'multi-CSC family'
            3) Scroll down and select XSA (Australian CSC).
            4) Select 'Change Sales code'
            5) Your phone will factory reset and change CSC

The above will not work if you have a Chinese / Hong Kong phone (i.e. G9650) as they are not part of the OXM family

    • Nornamlly it does not require au firmware to use samsung pay, i used vietnamese version one and add commbank card normally without any issues

    • Yes you can.

    • Samsung told me once that it completely voids your warranty as they can check the build region against the firmware. Wouldn't recommend it. I just use Google Pay instead and haven't noticed any difference.

      • For it to void your warranty they have to prove that the act of flashing it was what caused whatever problem you're having.

In theory anyway. Realistically it'll be fighting an uphill battle even though consumer law is on your side!

  • +1

It must be price error as Galaxy S9 64 GB is $1028

  • they have paypal option

  • Kinda want to buy for the fun of it?

  • +4

Also pulled the trigger, got it through Paypal. Will advise if it ships or not!

  • Quick someone go and price beat at officeworks!!

    • OW don't sell this colour.

      • damn :(, I was just in the middle of ringing and read your comment

  • Tax applied before checking out, which is like $45. So i guess this is grey

    • Who cares, its cheap! And if it does ship, win win!

  • My s7 Edge is still going strong but damn for that price

  • +1

no way is this australian stock, im buying anyway

    • +1

Noob question - what's the difference between Australian stock and international stock?

  • Just impulse bought fml (but still snagged a deal so not really)

  • +2

    404 error now :)
Man thats an old Nginx server though from the version number nginx/1.6.2

  • +6

I ordered before this post went one. I was told it is Australian stock and Samsung will look after warranty. It is brand new and not refurbished.

    • +11

Bastards cancelled my order though I was the first to order. I called and spoke before ordering and confirmed pricing which was also confirmed by manager. Confirmed stock, warranty and Australian model.

      • +22

        Time to boycott them.

        • +9

Oh trust me I have. They should be banned from OzBargain too.

        • +3

          Why am I downvoted?

      • +2

The manager and the incompetent staff called and apologized.

        • i think maybe this may be a campaign to advertise the store… and they did this before according to other people's link

        • Time to forgive them

  • Page is so sloww!! Ozbargain'ed

  • Bought now, think later. Guess will make an early bday gift for daughter to replace the LG G6 (she hated switching from G5, due to dead battery, as even she noticed camera was way better on the 5) Model number they listed is Aus version. Luckily I bought, their site seems to have really slowed down a lot now!

  • I'm trying to checkout but I'm getting 404 errors now

  • Bought it and see what happen

  • Website got ozbargain'd while I was in checkout. :(

  • Yep in the middle of checking out, gone

    • OP rang them earlier and confirmed the price?

      • +2

        Yes I did.

    • Hmm, so OP says the price is correct but you said they are refunding. I am confused now.
