This is actually valid for locations throughout Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia.

If you are staying at the more expensive places it is worth joining AccorPlus for a free night plus another 10% off these special prices.

    • Hi Gaz does A+ really give you a genuine extra 10% discount? One thing I’ve noticed with Accor is that the room rate is always the same regardless of any “sale” or “discount”, or the discount applies to a higher rate and so ends up the same as the normal lowest rate.
The only thing I like is the $1 breakfast, everything feels like a con.

Having said that, I am considering A+ for an upcoming trip. If it really truly offers 10% discount and 50% off meals it will at worst break even and hopefully save some money.

      • Get the Ibis business card instead

        • The Ibis Business card is quite different:
          - No free night
          - 10% off meals worldwide (Accor Plus is 50% off meals Asia/Australia/NZ/Pacific)
          - 10% off flexible rates, 5% off non-flexible rates (Accor Plus is 10% off all rates, even specials, in Asia/Australia/NZ/Pacific)
          - Ibis rate is cheaper (although there are cheaper ways of joining Accorplus)

          • @Gaz1: Ibis business card gets you Accor Gold. I’ve used Gold to get the same % off food cause most hotels don’t know the difference between A+ and Le club.

Also, it’s only 50% meals with two people, single person only gets 25%

        • I had that and it didn’t change the rates one cent, that’s part of why I asked. And the gold status didn’t seem to mean anything either.

          • @[Deactivated]: Really? I’ve had upgrades every stay, two alcoholic drink vouchers and late checkout granted almost every stay. Plus I’ve status match about 3 hotel chains from it

          • @[Deactivated]: I can't comment on the Ibis business card (as I have Accor Plus) but all sale rates in Asia/Aust/NZ/Pacific are cheaper when I log in. I'm only silver status (the automatic status you will get when you join AccorPlus) & status benefits aren't huge. Late checkout & welcome drink are the main ones. Some places have given us a free upgrade, although you aren't supposed to get this unless you have Gold status.

The Accorplus price really is 10% off any sale price. In fact it actually ends being more like 14% if they have a 30 or 40% off sale; I think because they calculate the extra 10% off the full rate.
The Accorplus Australia price has got a little out of hand & hard to recoup your money but I joined via a contact in Fiji & the value free night oftens pays for the membership alone if you stay in one of the nicer places.
The 50% off meals actually saves us quite a lot too.
We use the 50% off if we are going to a show in the city (you don't need to stay to get 50% off meals).
We also use it for 50% off Breakfast when we are staying in (or near) an Accor.
When we first check in we ask which dining venues & which meal times qualify for the 50% off (its usually most, but not always).
The free welcome drink is also nice. Sometimes just a house wine or beer, but sometimes a cocktail (when we stayed at Pullman Ho Chi Minh they said we go to the rooftop bar & could pick anything on the menu. Like a true Ozbargainer we chose the most expensive drink - 2 x Liquid Nitrogen cooled cocktails that normally cost about A$25 each!

If you would like to be sure & you have particular dates & hotel in mind let me know (PM if you prefer) & I can search on my account tell you current Accorplus rates.

I think another benefit from Accor+ is the red room rates. You get 50% discount room rates for specific date. For example Sofitel Brisbane is currently on sale with $132 per night. You also access to private sale with the rates is significantly cheaper. I just finished my stay at IBIS brisbane at $69 per night.

          • @zack1502: Great deal! How did you find out about the Sofitel Brisbane sales?

            • @pray4me23: Once you join Accor Plus you can log into the Accor Plus website & there is a menu selection showing the current red hot room rates. Typically only for the Asia/Aust/Pacific region & generally only for the next month or two.
Let me know if have a particular location in mind & I can let you know the current re hot rooms if you like.

        • Hi Gaz1, I've PMed you. Thank you!

I can back up Gaz1's contact in Fiji.

Pretty good, just renewed again this year. Price was actually lower than the first time i joined.
