          • @richmond12: True but he also may get through for the $1 each.

            • +1

@treeman: Good luck to and if he wins it's $1 if now just $15…

            • @treeman: Just an update he decided not to risk it and paid the $15 for the ticket.

              • @treeman: Correction he just told me to he did try… Haha. Didn't think he was was going to.

Anyway he gave them the booking number staff were confused as it didn't work, they even phoned adrenaline to check but he didnt get through.

He then purchased the $15 tickets. I told him about the $13.50 ones but he must not of got the email.

He also isn't an RAA member.

    • +3

I'm heading out to the Docklands today anyway, so I'm taking my ticket just in case it happens to work.

  • BRG Experiences Pty Ltd has sent you a $3.00 AUD refund for your purchase on 3 March 2019

    U(k yew :(

  • +2

Wtf this is annoying and embarrassing. I had planned (and paid for 4 tickets) to bring my family friends from overseas tomorrow night, and now I have to tell them to forget about it.

Tickets are now $64.95 for 4 tickets (includes a ridiculous $4.95 'handling fee', when literally no one on their end is handling anything). Adrenaline should do the right thing and at least offer us a discount.

    • Just book direct (for the same price) and cut the out of the loop.

    • Some what agree on with 'Adrenaline should do the right thing and at least offer us a discount.'. It is them who stuffed up the pricing, not us.
I was planning to take my relatives who would here during this week from overseas, luckily didn't break the news to them. Damn, imagine the embarrassment ;(

  • Anyone bought ticket and got a refund ?. I got mine and pay via PayPal and I just got an email saying I’ve got a refund from PayPal. Was wondering if anyone has use it yet ? Does it work?

    • Yes I too booked for next weekend and paid via Paypal. I got 2 emails from Adrenaline on booking confirmation.
However just couple of hours ago I have received an email from Paypal on the refund. No explanation or emails from Adrenaline on the cancellation.

Btw, I booked 3 adult tickets and 1 kid for $18 but now being refunded.

      • +3

You paid full price fof a kid when adult was $1?

Please hand back your ozbargain badge lol

  • -1

Not cancelled. I got 30 of them and they came in pdf all working.
I gave some away to friends and they have already booked all good

    • Yea i wonder, did you not pick dates when you paid?

      • No got them as gift vouchers and sent to myself and friends

        • So what you select when you bought them?

          Voucher instead of picking dates?

          • @richmond12: Yes. Gift voucher

          • @richmond12: Got gift vouchers as well but it won't let you select a date when booking with the vouchers.

Got the refund email from Paypal.

        • Those gift vouchers still need to be converted online to a booked date (which is no longer possible). Just printing out the gift voucher PDF is not enough I fear.

          • @Kontiki: yes i am getting a message (while redeeming gift vouchers) stating that these vouchers cannot be redeemed online and I would need to call their support line.

  • Just got a paypal refund.

  • +2

Recommend to go to consumer affairs, lets make them pay for this. Lets make the wheel of fortune go back into liquidation again.

  • +13

Very disappointed. I just got a refund confirmation from Paypal and no email explanation (checked spam folder). That's not exactly good customer service to deal with their own stuff up.

They don't have exactly good reviews online either, will be adding my displeasure to these reviews:

    https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Attraction_Review-g255060-d55…
    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/live-adrenalin

    • Cheers.

Left a review on both sites

    • All 5 star reviews on their own website and no way to add a negative review?
Maybe I'll add one on their social media.

  • I haven’t received any refund/cancellation email. Paid with credit card rather than PayPal (if that makes any difference)

    I have a lodged a complaint with ACCC, https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/about-us/regulatory-approach…

I believe that they have done this for exposure and then sold more tickets than anticipated and are now back tracking on the deal.

    • My email to Adrenaline for anyone who wants to use (Thanks mbmol1)

I'm just wanting to confirm that my booking is still valid.

      As per the Consumer Affairs website regarding pricing mistakes;
"If a customer places an order at an incorrect price, the business must inform the customer of their mistake before processing the order and give them the choice to continue with their order at the correct price, or cancel it. Alternatively, the business can choose to honour the discounted price as a sign of good will."

Adrenaline's opportunity to rectify the mistake occurred when I went to checkout. Once paid for and the booking confirmation or gift voucher has been sent, Adrenaline has accepted the offer.

      Thanks

      • +1

Agree. Strictly speaking, if the vendor takes money from the credit card, then the contract to deliver tickets becomes a valid and enforceable. The vendor has a duty to deliver the tickets. I don't think cancel the contract and refund the money discharge the duty of delivery.

        • +1

It's then even worse to cancel an existing booking based on this mistake.

  • Haven't tried redeeming my gift vouchers yet. Haven't received any cancellation email as well.

    • +1

It won't let you select a date when you try to redeem.

I purchased a booked time and a separate gift voucher. So far I only have received a refund for the booked date. They better refund the gift voucher as well! I'm half-expecting a lame excuse like 'you can still spend the gift voucher on our website'.

      • I paid with Paypal, so a refund will be easy.

ACCC complaint will be coming as I though this was a real offer.

  • Have lodged a complaint with ACCC just now.

  • +8

    I have taken this extract from consumer affairs website re pricing mistakes;

"If a customer places an order at an incorrect price, the business must inform the customer of their mistake before processing the order and give them the choice to continue with their order at the correct price, or cancel it. Alternatively, the business can choose to honour the discounted price as a sign of good will."

Adrenaline's opportunity to rectify the mistake occured when you went to checkout. Once paid for and the booking confirmation or gift voucher has been sent, the company has accepted the offer.

Imagine if it was the other way around and you wanted your money back after purchasing, how much they would fight and say you already accepted into the contract, why should they get away with this???

  • +3

I redeemed straight away and got a booking confirmation, booked for this Sunday afternoon, still planning on rocking up with the booking confirmation. Legally they don't really have a leg to stand on given we booked and got a booking confirmation.

For those that have gone and done it do they just take your piece of paper?

    • +1

I also got the booking confirmation, but would it be valid at the Wheels is the question!

      • I also have a booking confirmation.

Let us know how it goes, as. mine is for late next week.

        • yep, mine is for next weekend as well, booked right away at checkout, but still received cancellation and refund…

  • Everyboduy got their money refunded?
I have heard this was human error in pricing and they are cancelling all transactions.
Got my paypal refund email but nothing from vendors.

  • +1

The vendor's action is not acceptable. Think purchased a flight to Maldives, paid $500 and ticketed. A couple of days later travel agent refunded money and advised sorry - human error it should be priced at $1,500.

Also, the name of sales is "March Madness", so we expect "madness" price. I genuinely believe for a 30 minutes experience at $1 is a "madness" price. I hope this is not a false/misleading advertising.

    • Yes, as they refunded without providing the options to choose, they might have lost their options to offer an alternative amount say $2 per person.

So let’s all push forward and see how the company response.

It’s might be seen false and misleading advertisement as you said

  • I got a refund but no cancellation email…
I also got a confirmation for my original booking time. Worth giving it a go on Sunday?

    • I got the cancellation email but no refund….

  • +3

I still dont see how it was a price error, it was the planned price. They just sold "too many" and needed a way out.

    • i think this may be the case and hopefully they are sorting this out before ACCC gets involve.

  • +4

I have some friends that went today using the booking numbers and had no problems, it looks as though the bookings are valid but they want people to not use them

    • Did you get the refund for these bookings? If you did, you guys get a free ride out of them… LOL

    • Awesome!

Thanks. Will print ours out, and head out late next week (as per our booking confirmation).

      Thanks

  • +3

Just called the guys at the Melbourne Star. They checked the booking number and don't have it on record.
The payment has been returned to my PayPal account.

I've sent feedback through to Adrenalin and to the ACCC

  • +1

    So disappointed.
Let's leave comments on their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/adrenaline.com.au/

  • I purchased a few vouchers last night and converted them this morning. I've received a couple of emails today advising "a full refund is being processed", but haven't actually been refunded yet. I understand pricing errors can happen, so I actually wouldn't have minded if the refund happened when the email came (ie. not that long after the purchase). However, currently I still have a charge for a service I apparently cannot take, which I'm not happy about.

    • Same here

  • My booking just got cancelled due to error on pricing!! Anyone else also got this? They haven’t given me money back too

    • Same with me. Still waiting for a refund even though they said they processed it

  • I have emailed them as advised by the other Bargainers- didnt put any effort into it as we kind of have a feeling for their response.

My message: "I'm confused about what is going on with my booking. I have only booking confirmations in email but a text saying to check my email regarding a cancellation… what's going on? Am I able to still go on this with my partner?"

  • after hassling Adrenaline for the past few days i finally got my refund!

  • just wondering who else has email ACCC and contacted Adrenaline about the refund is not the right cause of action ?

    • I have. Sent it on the 5th

  • +2

So gutted. I bought 5 tix for my sister's birthday and after making a huge splash on Sunday to tell her the news, I now have to take it all back. It was my first gift to her since the 90s.

    • +1

      Wow more tight than Tightarse
Just go buy 5x $15 to cover yourself, not worth the embarrassment in front of family to take back. You still need family to show up at hospital when you're old and frail.

      • It is now $36 each, ouch…

  • No sign of refund. No email, no SMS no nothing and yet the vouchers dont work. Not happy..

    • I had to lodge a PayPal dispute to get my refund

  • No SMS, no email but refund to my CC showed up today, dated 04/03. I suppose the delay is from the bank, not Adrenaline.

  • +4

It is a PR disaster for Adrenaline.

now they are putting their heads in the sand hoping this will go away.

Lets keep the heat on…. keep emailing them and wait for ACCC to set in.

At least we could prove to ACCC we tried to resolve this .

    • +4

Yes i totally agree, I think it would have been cheaper for them to honour the tickets and take the hit, they didn't realise messing with savy ozbargainers would have landed them in so much heat, I been watching the negative reviews increase and overall ratings drop on various review sites. I am surprised I have not received a call from Consumer Affairs yet. I have complained before and usually got a call the next day. I heard that Adrenaline is owned by someone from Shark Tank, it maybe that that they might be in the back pocket of someone at the Consumer Affairs. Even more reason to fight it.

    • Sick of corporations doing what ever they want and getting away with it.

Expedia deal around Christmas 2018 which was $25 off each transaction. Forgot to put the promo code in before pressing PAY meaning that I didn't get $25 off. Called immediately and see if they can add the promo code or cancel the transaction. Guess what, they said there is nothing they can do!

  • +1

Anybody managed to still use the bookings despite apparently being cancelled?

  • +2

Done with ACC and Product review.

    • +1

      The Australian Crime Commission? Yowsers.

  • +1

Just got a reply to my email. They're offering tickets for $13.50

In light of the response to the error, we have worked with the supplier directly to negotiate a significantly reduced price for the same experience. We are pleased to offer all Adrenaline customers the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel Admission for $13.50, which represents a 60% saving on the original experience retail price.

We understand and appreciate this is not as appealing as the $1 listing that was made in error late last week, however we hope it goes some way to showing you we are sorry for our mistake.

  • i had emailed them and advise as they had refunded before offering the choice thus they had voided their chance to bait and switch.

    • +3

It sort of is a bait and switch, isn't it?
We'll offer you this great deal…oh sorry, human error…now that we have your attention hows this $13.50 ticket

  • Anyone else tried to use their confirmation booking?

  • I did not receive a cancellation text or email. This should be honoured. Very angry

  • they are hoping people loose concern on this quickly.

    • I spoke to Consumer Affairs, they said they will do nothing as the money was already refunded. I will keep attacking Adrennaline. Their Facebook page might be the best way to publicly shame them until they give in.

      • It's only a refund if the transaction was not complete or if you asked for a refund in exchange of returning the voucher. Don't think either is the case, right?

        • +1

Agree, I have written to CAV and see how it goes.

  • Still no email, no refund for me. Just a short message 10 days ago saying my booking has been cancelled. Very poor service.
