@OSA: You can if you want but it has never been necessary at least for the past 2 yrs. The system does not seem to keep track of your stay at all. As long as you scan a card the gate will raise.

              • @truetypezk: If this is true you have the best comment on this post… I will try this out soon. I know for public holidays when they are open they just leave the gate up.

                • @lainey13: Yeah if you are not that adventurous you can still grab a free exit coupon before you leave just in case you got stuck:) that s what i did the first time testing their system.

                  • @truetypezk: Thanks heaps :) will give it a go for sure

      • What's the longest you've stayed there? Thinking of seeing a movie there today.

        • +1

There is no actual limit so just watch out for their closing time.

  • How do we know which dates/times are free, when using gift vou? Like before confirming.

    • It'll get booked out soon I'd imagine, so I redeemed my gift vouchers already

      • Yeah i suppose if you wanna go on weekends it is better to book in early. Wkdays should be fine though.

  • great deal thanks

  • Awesome. I've just booked two tickets for next week, thanks!

  • Thanks OP :)
Got one for the 24th for an afternoon timeslot. Do i just rock up sometime in the arvo or will they email me with a specific time?

  • +1

Omg thanks OP, you're a legend!

I just had some family friends arrive from overseas last week, and it's my mom's birthday this week, so this is perfect timing!

Two birds with one scone! :P

    • *stone

  • This is pure insanity, bought 6 tickets thanks OP!

  • How bad is the jet lag after the flight?

    • i heard swimming helps ;) haha..just wait out for FREE entry to swimming pools next Australia Day haha

  • It says you can exchange them for other stuff. I wonder if it gives you a $1 value or the value of the actual ticket cost as an exchange??

    • only $1 value which is paid.

  • +1

I mean it's a dollar so worth a shot, but it's pretty dodgy you can't book a time or know exactly when you're going… Just a general email and hoping to hear back with a time that suits…

    • Confirmation email is instant.

You don't need to go at a set time; just am or PM .

I booked next Saturday afternoon and it was confirmed within a few minutes via email

  • +3

    Thanks OP.
This what ozbargain is all about.

    Ripper deal.

  • +2

Two tickets for $1.80. Can’t be beat. Thanks OP

  • Great deal. The tickets are transferable too, so great to treat or give some away.

  • Can you take a child on an adult ticket?

  • I received the booking confirmation from Adrenaline. Do I need to redeem this anywhere or am I just good to go anytime in the afternoon (as PM selected) on the selected day?

    • I’m curious too

  • Looks like it might be dead - I was mid-booking showing $3 for 3 tix, and then checked about adding one child and it updated all the prices to full price ($100+).

Now looking at it again, all tixs are $15 (kids and adults). Damn!

    • Same thing happened to me. Oh well, I just saved $2

  • Jeez its back to $15 :(

Was good as long as it lasted!!

  • Price has increased to $15. Wanted to take the daughter there in the long weekend.

  • Seems like a pricing error.

Ordered about 15 minutes ago, got a text 'we have been unable to process payment for your adrenaline order ref:…'

  • $15 now

  • Wonder if someone in IT is going to get fired today.

    • +8

at ozbargain, he/she is our hero

  • So I assume they will honour the deals/bookings already made yesterday for those who paid $1?

  • +4

I just called Adrenaline and I was told that at this stage they were unable to redeem the voucher as there was a price glitch. They are working on a solution and I will get advised by the end of the day on the outcome.

    • Surely they can't cancel ones that have already been confirmed?

  • They've got wise to the voucher trick - when you go to redeem you can only choose a date in March, even though voucher says valid for 3 years…..

  • Just called adrenaline, they seem to be refunding everyone who purchased it for $1. Such a shame.

    • +2

      Damn that's not fair.

    • +1

Yeah, I just got an email saying mine were refunded.

      • Did you ever receive the confirmation email and if you did, did you click the received confirmation link?

        • Yep, I got the confirmation email and clicked on the 'Yes, I have received the booking confirmation' link. Do you think it would still work if I rocked up?

  • I'm trying to redeem my vouchers and it won't give me any dates at all now! Should have redeemed last night

    • That happened to me too, but it eventually resolved after 20 seconds

      • How did you resolve it? It looks like theu are canceling all the vouchers from what others have said

        • I couldn't select dates or fill out the details. I just left the booking page idle for a moment, when I came back I was to proceed as normal.
I figured it just needed some time to load.
Then I redeemed another voucher and waited this time, it took around 20 seconds to load properly.

  • +1

Also worth pointing out i think it is against consumer law for them to not honour vouchers that have been sold. For all intensive purposes we have purchased and paid for the vouchers so they are our already.

    • +7

Intensive purposes is an eggcorn. The term is 'intents and purposes'.

      • +2

        eggcorn

I just learnt this word because of you. Thanks. Wonder why they're called "eggcorns" lol

        • +1

The eggcorn doesn't fall far from the tree. :)

    • +2

Price errors aren't against consumer law and under consumer law all you are entitled to is a refund and nothing more.

  • +4

How embarrassing if you sent some off to your friends as a gift and now they can't redeem them.

    • did you do that hahah

    • Yes! I nearly did that but thank goodness I didn’t

  • We have received communication from Adrenaline that it is indeed a price error and

    • Transactions will not be honoured
    • Affected customers will be informed

    See Merchant Take-Down Request.

    • +6

Their reputation may have remained intact if they explained HOW they made the price error, and what they're doing to prevent in future.

      • +1

"price error" more like: a lot more purchases than expected.

  • Just received text that the booking has been canceled :(

  • I received a booking confirmation.
Can i just walk up on the day or do I need to use the voucher to book again ?

    • It's going to be refunded - Pricing error

  • "Unfortunately, your Melbourne Star booking has been cancelled. Further details by email"

    That's SMS I got a while ago… So its official, CANCELLED ;(

    • Same here. Got cancelled!!

  • +1

Lost over A DAY'S INTEREST on my $1!
    So sad

  • They must of got hammered all day lol

  • +2

    Havent received any communication yet

    • Same.

I brought 4 gift vouchers then redeemed them all last night and received a confirmation email too

  • I got a booking confirmation, surely that means that they aren't able to cancel?
Haven't heard back from them yet.

  • +2

We should pool all our refunded dollars and buy the Melb Star

  • Anyone booked in for today? I work around the corner from the wheel and wanted to book in for this afternoon during my lunch, but I was just too late (couldn't select a date on the deal anymore, despite buying the gift voucher yesterday).

I wonder if the staff on-site would know about the cancellation of the deal.

  • Got a confirmation and booking voucher in the email but havent received any refunds or cancellations yet.

    • Got cancellation email, SMS and refund.

  • Melbourne Star Flight for $1 has crashed and burned.

    • I can honour the 30 minutes of fascinating commentary part.

  • Does that mean Cashrewards voided too?

  • +4

    Got refund 2 dollars

  • +2

Got redund via paypal. No explaination email yet.

    • I got the Email said was price error due to human error.

    • Nothing's come through my PayPal yet, I've received 2 emails and an SMS saying they were being cancelled

    • Same, anyone get an email?

  • +6

This post was probably the most Adrenaline you'll ever get from the observation wheel.

  • +5

My folks went today at 1pm and redeemed 3 tickets. My tickets for later in the week got cancelled :(

    • +9

Your folks are the true Ozbargainers.

  • +4

Wow.. Now they have free email address of 100s of new potential customers for free of cost

    • What an inefficient way to get emails too! Easier and better ways out there.

      • Potential customer vs 100s of random email with no information.

  • I got refunded too…what a waste of time

    • And excitement

  • The title on Adrenaline was March Madness, and it was the only item with that in the title, seems they did intend some sort of ‘mad’ sale

  • Doesn't matter if it was a error. Once the transaction is completed and you have vouchers, it is as if you have purchased a product and they cant just change their mind and say nah not honouring our end of the deal now. They stuffed up they need to wear it, and i think if you push back legally they will have to.

  • These tickets are on sale now with an racv card for $12 https://tickets.racv.com.au/shows/melbourne%20star%20observa…

So $1 as a promotion isnt crazy

  • wait i still have the booking confirmation but was refunded $2.. is it still valid or what?

  • +1

My friend is going to chance it.
The cancellation email went in his junk.

There is no bar code for them to scan. Just a booking number.
    What is his chances?
    He's going Saturday.

    • I'd hate to drive all the way there, pay for parking, only to be rejected at the door

      • He'll go by public transport, says if they turn him down he'll just buy on his phone and pay $15.

        • +2

          So bascially they win!
He would pay for 15 customers lol
