FYI: ' = feet, not inches.

    • Thanks for correcting!

  • i would rather buy a tic watch e from Kogan for $149 which does lot more and works with iPhones too.
But if ur into looks this is for u

      Tic's 48 hours battery life vs Huawei's 7 days.

      • correct. that is like heaven and earth

TIC is a android watch, while this Honor watch is running on Huawei's own os….

      • +1

using the Tic i can book a Uber, Listen to Spotify, use google services and finally get 1000's of watch faces. not sure if Huawei can do any which is why it lasts long.

        • +1

Well for one sleep monitoring is possible thanks to the battery life, which the tic can't do, or any wearos really. The GPS seems nice and the e doesn't have that.

          • +1

@superroach: FYI, the ticwatch E does have GPS

          • @superroach: And SleepForAndroid does the sleep tracking for ur wear. just download. Not trying to prove that wear OS is better, just saying that for less money u get a lot more stuff.

          • +1

@superroach: Sleep monitoring doesn't work. It's as accurate as when your watch though you walked 900 steps even though you were washing your hair.

Got this watch from geekbuying a while ago for US $127. Stopped functioning in a week time, screen got pixelated(black dots), got refunded. Not buying it.

  • How does this stack up against the Samsung S3 Gear/Frontier?

  • Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is worth buying compared to this.

    • Costs twice as much though

      • Huawei Honor Watch Magic : 223A$
        Samsung Galaxy Watch Active: 280A$

How it can be twice the price ? O.o ?

        • You're right! I was looking at the Samsung Galaxy Watch instead of the Active model

  • RAM: 16MB
    ROM: 128MB

    Really??!

    • +1

Yes, really. It is running an extremely light embedded OS which is how it gets the 2 week battery life.

The Huawei version (rather than Honor) has a bigger battery and is a bit thicker to get the 4 weeks battery life.

Due to the specs, no chance of porting any other OS to it. Probably no chance of installing apps either (other than the pre-baked ones).
