Gotta love how epic some of these keyboards look yet a good portion of PC gamers would use a total of 9 keys. Honestly though, these mechanical keyboards are excellent for typing in an office environment.

Stop telling people that, some might not know you are joking regarding the office environment. I had a brown switch one that I changed to a red switch one and still, people were telling me it is loud. After putting o-rings on it I think it is ok (or at least is it not that loud and I do not care anymore).

Regarding the looks… I would not call that epic…

      • Just turn up the air con it will dampen the sound of the keyboard

Agreed. I bought one of the HyperX 'boards with Cherry Browns from MWave just before Christmas, which I'm really liking for all-day typing. I bought some O-rings off eBay for a buck and they have made a noticeable difference. However, people around me we just thankful it's not the same as the IBM Model M with buckling springs I had previously. :-D

I took my brown switch board to my office job and never had a single complaint in the year and a half I was there, and that was without dampeners. It's crazy how unproductive I am on membrane keyboards now I've been only typing on mechanical for 5 or so years.

Plus,if you're working in an office, one would expect keyboard clack anyway. Everyone's would just blend together.

      • I like how people complain about the loudness of mechanical keyboards when most of them bash the keys on their plastic HP rubber dome crap when typing.

      • I've got a Ducky Shine 2 with browns and I love it. I'm thinking about getting something for the office - what would be the quietest I could get?
