  • Thanks OP, got the 1k.

  • Is there much difference between the 1k and 4k polling rates?

    • +2

Or is it better to spend $6 more for the 4k?

    • +4

I nabbed the 1k last time

      It's replacing a G305.

It's super light and feels pretty smooth. It also kinda feels… Cheaper than my G305 which is already an entry level mouse. But that could also just be a result of being much lighter too.

I don't think anyone non competitive is ever going to tell the difference between 1-4-8K polling.

      Grab the cheapest.

      • +1

Thanks for the feedback Reaps. Grabbed the 1k one

      • Does the clicking feels cheap and heavy compare to G305?

        • Cheap and light* would be more correct.

If you want just a newer sensor/slightly diff shape and lighter, its a nice mouse. But I wouldn't say it's a direct upgrade to the G305 for all intents an purposes for feel. G305 was just a good budget overall mouse. Pair it with a lithium double AA or a triple + plastic housing to reduce weight if you just wanted to reduce some weight. I did the double AA lithium (so ~90g vs 99 stock) and each battery lasts forever lol. Triple drops it to like low-mid 80s with adapter at cost of battery.

you might feel the difference between 1k and 8k (a big big might). but you surely will feel the difference charging once per week vs charging daily or every second day…………………also bigger chance of it running out of battery in the middle of a match………….

not worth it, 2k is like sweet spot. 4k 8k dont even bother until battery life is way better

    • +1

4k polling does not change much in user experience and is problematic even. Windows will lag and hike CPU with 4k polling from what I read. 1k is fine.

      About 3k

Unless you're a professional gamer in the FPS genre, polling rates above 1k will not make a difference in mouse performance.
If anything, it'll just make battery juice drain quicker, requiring more frequent recharges.
There's plenty of anecdotal posts by gaming mouse enthusiasts about whether or not they've found polling rates >1k beneficial. It's mainly marketing at 4k and above in my opinion.

There's a bunch of other metrics like weight, sensor, LOD, switches, build quality, skates, that mouse enthusiasts value, but ultimately
shape/comfort is king. And this is rather subjective, since everyone has different grips and hand sizes.

I'm not a professional mouse reviewer or gamer, but I've bought and tried at least a dozen different mouse in the last 2 years, trying to find my 'endgame' (it's an illusion). I currently rotate between the Mchose A7 and the Kysona Uranus Pro (I prefer mouse that have aren't too low in height/hump).

  • Tempting though i have a Glorious forge one pro so guess ill stick to that

  • Anyone recommended 1k or 4k? Is much difference?

    • +2

I have the 8K version VT3, but I only run 1K daily because I can hardly feel any difference at 8K (in responsiveness) except for much worse battery life.

    • Higher than 1k does make a difference if you play comp FPS but it's not substantial.

  • The PAW 3950 sensor on the 8k is better if you want the option of good tracking on a glass mouse pad supposedly but otherwise pretty hard to tell the difference people say

    • Different shape though

    Did not need. Bought
Common theme when I’m on this website
    Cheers OP

Got it in the last sale. For its price really nice and easy to setup. Really light. at this price you can't go wrong.

  • can this work with PS5 ?

  • I use there MT550 which i love. Id grab another in second if it was on sale

    • +1

I have the MT750 from 2018 and it is still going perfectly.

  • Do you need to use the software or does it work fine standalone?

    • It works fine by itself. I haven't needed to use any software for it.

  • Does the mouse wheel on any of them tilt/scroll side to side for horizontal scrolling?

I'm hanging onto a 5 year old G502 lightspeed because I need that function on the wheel.

    • +1

Nope. You'd probably need to grab a 502x (wired) or the plus (wireless) to keep Logitechs scroll wheels (hyperscroll stuff and side)

  • Thanks op got the 1k in Black although it was $1 extra but meh

    • +1

Better go on the migoreng diet to recoup that $1 extra you paid

      • +1

100% its cleared my bank balance lol

  • Any recommendations on wireless mechanical keyboards?

    • +2

I bought this back in May when it was on sale $116.44 - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DPWX3WTL
      It's brilliant.

I've got the Aula F75 (reef black & reaper axis combination) but without the screen. It costed $65 from Aliexpress a few months ago. It's a amazing keyboard. I really like the grey gradient sideprinted keycaps that the one you linked to came with, as I have the same on mine.

My previous keyboard (Ajazz AK832 Pro) had the same screen. Initially I thought it was cool but quickly found out it's useless and wastes battery. All the functions, such as battery level, can be done with FN key combinations.

I'd highly suggest to others to get the Aula F75 without the screen and save ~50%.

        • Agreed with the Aula F75 take. Prebuilts have come a long way for keyboards. This thing is like 90% of my Keychron Q2 in experience for a third of a price, insane.

          • @ilikegengar: +1 for this
Got an Aula F75 from AliExpress for a colleague.
Swapped out the switches with some Oetemu’s and off she went.
Nice build quality for the price and this is comparing to my own Keychron.

Absolutely crazy what they can churn out at that price point.
Also impressive is the Reddragon K673 Max I got for $65 on clearance for my son’s pc.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered to replace my G305 which kept dropping connection

  • Thanks OP, picked up a white one to replace my Razor Basilisk X (black); my life is now complete because my KB, case and mouse are all white and match.

  • +2

Mine just arrived… replaced my G Pro Wireless. For like 20% of the price this thing is seriously decent quality and very similar shape (I guess it's going for that generally common shape).

Given that I've gone through 2 GPWs due to failing switches, if this lasts even half as long I'll be happy

    • Grabbed the 4K, feels like a steal at ~30$. Agree it feels very good compared to G Pro wireless. Maybe even better tracking performance?

The biggest downside is the crappy drivers. However, i just use them to setup the mouse and disable them from auto-booting or sitting in the background.

All in all, you've gotta have a real good reason to spend more…!

      • Any specific drivers? I just plug n play, didn't really think about specific ones

        • +1
          • @goatonboat: Thanks, will give it a look. I don't suppose you did much testing before and after getting the gaming driver?

            • @knobbs: No I didnt, so cant comment.

I used it to update dongle and mouse firmware. I updated DPI settings, polling rate and LOD settings too - I suspect these are all stored on the mouse.

FWIW you dont need drivers open on your computer all the time - i think just to change settings.

I'm currently using the mouse on another computer that does not have the drivers at the moment without issue.

  • Damn need one missed this deal 😭
