If you after a comprehensive backup software, check this out; I've been using this on my Mac, Windows and now my QNAP NAS.
Their support team is very responsive too!

Note: the backup settings are rather complex and not for faint-hearted, but if you are after a backup solution that needs full control of the settings (from encrypting the file prior backup to off-site location to multiple versions copy and throttle upload/download/sync speed), check this one.

  • I use this software for my server and its great, a lot of customisation options.

  • Duplicati/rsync are free/open source.

    • True, I used duplicati in the past too, but due to the open source, if I come across with an issue, the support is nothing apart from forum

      • Hah, guess I'm just lucky I haven't run in to issues.

      But this is better.

I don't see any definitive way this is 'better', but you do what you want, I was just pointing out there are free versions that have the same functionality.

        • -1

I've used both of the software you mentioned.

The benefits are huge and obvious… so I can only assume you haven't bothered to have a look as to why.

Nothing wrong with using free alternatives, but its not better.

          • @samfisher5986: Well, I'm not paying for it, I looked at the feature set, and I don't think it's unfair to say they are very similar. Why don't you tell me about the benefits, I truly don't see them
