Hi Ozbargain,

Edit: payment can be made in AUD directly, so there are no conversion fees required.

I worked very closely with ibVPN to get our ozbargain community an exclusive on a great deal as I was with them for the past 4 years from a previous deal old deal and they've since made even more great changes and I would highly recommend this for anyone. Enjoy :)

The link will automatically take you to an exclusive page built for this deal and will apply the coupon code as well.

This is for their top VPN package that has Proxy and SmartDNS as well and is essentially 2 years FREE - $58.06USD (~$82.54AUD) for 3 Years - Saving $116.12USD (~$165.08AUD)

  • Does Netflix us work with this

    • I have just tested it to confirm that it worked on a US VPN server and has worked with the smart DNS - I got it working for for watching The Office (US) :)

      • You do know that the Office US is on both Prime video and Stan here right?

  • If you're already with ibVPN and you've got let's say 4 wks left, does this tack on?

    • Interesting, I have contacted support and will let you know when I heard back

      • Thank you!

        • Hi @chaks - I just got a response from support:

Yes. To benefit the current promotion, you (they) can purchase a new subscription while the promotion lasts from our website and we will merge your services so that they reflect the correct next due date.
As soon as the payment is confirmed, please contact our sales dept. on https://www.ibvpn.com/billing/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid… so they can make the necessary adjustment

          So, "Yes" is the answer!

  • Also a 4 year customer from previous deal, however going to be looking elsewhere due to lack of Australian based P2P servers (https://www.ibvpn.com/server-list/)

    • I know some other providers have it, but it's hard because our ISP in Australia are actually blocking it. I've used other P2P servers for torrenting have gotten great speeds though

      • Yeah I get that.. It's just that my FTTN NBN is terribly slow (due to how far away my node is) and any P2P via Hong Kong, Canada or Europe is painful. Just needing something closer to home for P2P.. I think Private Internet Access will do the job, so will be trialing that and a few others in the coming weeks before my current ibvpn subscription expires.

        • yup! Do it asap this deal end date has been set for 2 weeks, but depending on responses, it may not last!

          • @cheapass88: I use a Melbourne based server with my VPN. Torrents aren't allowed. SFTP from my seedbox is though… It absolutely rockets down.

            • @o53djz7qTPY4der: Who is your seedbox provider?

              • +1

                @shaybisc: Ultraseedbox.

Although I have used Seedhost, Seedbox.cc. All have been great.

I have found the trick to be using segmented downloading (e.g. lftp).

  • Do they still keep logs?

    • (D) LOGGING
ibVPN does not collect or log any traffic or use of its Virtual Private Network service.

      • +1

That's good! I remember they used to for three days or something along those lines.

  • Nice post. Thanks OP

My PIA is due for renewal. Anyone who has experience with both PIA and ibVPN what would you recommend?

  • "All of our applications, operations, and even the support are run and performed from our offices located in Transylvania – a well-known region in the heart of the beautiful country of Romania (part of the European Union)."

    • It's actually a good thing! Romania is NOT on the list of governments included in the Eyes surveillance alliance.

  • Does this deal continue on at the same price when up for renewal? - looking to test a new vpn.

    • After 3 years, it's probably a good time to search for a new deal. But ibVPN may come up with something since they did it after the 4 years too to keep their customers

  • Does anyone have speeds of the AU servers and common servers like US West, UK?

It's subjective when it comes to speed tests as everyone is on different types of plans and infrastructure technology and location distance.

But I'm interested in those on cable internet (HFC) when using non-p2p servers with and without VPN to see what type of hit there is to speed performance.

    • Like you said, everyone gets different speeds.. You can actually sign up for a free 24hour account to trial their service without credit card to see if it works for you, that's what I did before I signed up

  • +1

Been with them for years and I find them terrific. Support is great too, what I particularly like is they have a dns server that replaces the ISP's DNS server which is very stable. I am with Belong and their DNS server is terrible.

    • Have you taken up this offer? I'd hope at least one other has benefit from it!
