also dont see why so many people negg'ed an innocent question, headings and bargains should be clear and consise…

  • +5

If you bother to click on their page you will see it's return. Very good price if it fits your travel plans.

      • -5

This is Malaysian airlines, not Tiger or AirAsia

        • -2

erm read my post…. thats what i said…THANKS MOD thats better!

      • Malaysian Airline is good. Generous seating in the A380.
And also didnt have all the A380 problems like Qantas or Singapore.

  • +1

Good price for SkyTrax 5 star airlines.

  • +1

Good price but dates are not good for me.

    • I'm hoping for good prices for next year, even if booking is around a year in advance :)

  • Great deal, $1240 Mel-KL-Lon

Booked my flight through Airasia for about $1198 (inc bags, taxes, meals). Would happily of booked this instead. Oh well, can't predict these sales.

    • Booked mine from Perth-KL-London and back for $1k (bags, taxes, meals) about 2 months ago with AirAsia. Would of booked this instead too given AirAsia lands in Stansted which is over an hour from everything and arrives in the middle of the night. True, still happy with what I paid for.

  • Is that inclusive of all taxes?

    • +1

Yes for both airlines. /if that question was for me

  • Recently flew MH to KL over easter.

They've got very generous leg rooms. Food was mixed (don't get the seafood, and breakfast was a very mushy sausage roll). Service was acceptable.

    • +1

lol, if airlines cant get a hash brown right, i certainly wouldnt trust seafood

  • I would say the best deal on MH is the Buenos Aires flight. $1299, is absolutely fantastic for South America!

  • "Mandatory stopover required"

Does this mean there are no connecting flights, or you have to pay for a stopover?
There is something in the fine print about $150 per person cost.

Also, price now $1299 . How get $1229?
And of course this is off-season, winter for Europe. Short days and cold.
Unless you want to ski, Buenos Aires at the same price might be better. Or even LA or Istanbul.

    • Winter in Europe is HIGH season. Never heard of people going skiing?

    • You'll have to transit in KL anyway. AFAICT you can take one stopover outward or return for free. Nice excuse to go stay in a luxury KL hotel and do some shopping, er, retail therapy as recommended by all doctors. :)

  • ok pretty good deal, what happens because i plan to go to london to work in september (attempt to find work) can i book the return ticket and then not go on it if i decide to stay in london because i managed to find a job?

and would it be possible to change the return date or is this fixed and not changeable?

  • ok someone help me unless im doing it wrong, trying sept 19 and return whenever and putting KL as a stop over and not getting anywhere near 1.2k price, its like nearly 2k..

  • I'm having the same problem.
I put in Melb to LHR (which is via KL), but it shows up as 2854.90 ! :-(((

  • I put in some dates in January and got around $1400 if you want to try that. I haven't seen any prices cheaper than that.

  • if you dont get near the 1.2k price, means the special price for that seat has been booked out

  • Thanks.
See also http://www.bestflights.com.au/cheap-flights/phone-flights-de… for more details on the fares.
So it may be worth calling Malasian Airlines (or another travel agent) to see which dates still have the discounted fares.
Maybe they only have 2 or 3 cheapies on each date?..

    I suppose tha's why they always say "prices FROM… " !!!

  • I've had a quick search of some random dates and found the following:

    Aug 20 - Sept 20 = $1900

    16 Jan - 16 Feb or 16 Feb - 16 March = $1250ish

Still not a bad price for September anyway, but if you want to go in Jan/Feb/March then there look to be a fair few dates still at the $1250ish price.

I was in London in October last year when it was starting to get cold. Yes, it's cold, but if you're prepared and you rug up it's fine, it wouldn't be a reason not to go for this price!

Keep in mind too that London have the Olympics from July 27 to August 12, and then the Paralympics from August 29 to Sept 9. Airfares from June to around October are likely to be very high due to these events and there were reports yesterday about hotels looking to put a blanket 'peak price' on their rooms from June to October! So earlier in the year would be the best time to go to avoid all of that and not be majorly ripped off for everything else.

    • -1

i had a quick search but end up taking an hr and i didnt get any prices.. just session time outs.. FAIL

  • -3

Just checked … the price at $12xx did not include tax. :(

    • +1

you obviously had dates that it wasn't available on because it does include tax.

    • -1

I can confirm it does not include tax, checked date 15/11/11 to 15/01/02, include tax is 19xx

    • +1

Price DOES include tax if the sale fare is available on your dates - the dates I found for Jan/Feb/March at $1250ish had the breakdown of the fare ($500ish) + taxes ($700ish).

Went right through to booking because I am looking to go but need to confirm with other people and I didn't want to quote them something and then add tax on later!

Amazing isn't it, how more than half of the price is tax!!

      • The tax component is usually quite small: the majority of that $700 would be fuel surcharges. Putting the basic cost of a service (fuel) outside the price should be banned. We don't buy food, clothing, or other products with a 'shop delivery surcharge' or 'trucker's lunch allowance fee' added onto the product as we leave the store.

        • The tax component is usually quite small

          not if you're visiting London !!!! :O

THERE BOOKING WEBISTE IS SO SO CRAP

    • -1

      In b4 grammar nazi

    • -1

your spelling is so so crap
edit: grammar nazi is here lol

  • has anyone actually found dates that ARE available?

    • I could only find the ones for 16 Jan-20 Mar, searched all the other ones.
Why are all airline/flight sites so slow?

  • +3

Seems to work for me for 13 Aug Perth to Rome
Rome to KL on 23 Aug
Then KL to Perth on 18th Sept

    Total 3730.20 for 2 adults + 1child

Adult: 2 AUD 686.00 AUD 575.04 (Details) AUD 2522.08 Total
Child: 1 AUD 686.00 AUD 522.64 (Details) AUD 1208.64 Total
    Total: AUD 3730.72

    However, ———BEWARE ———-

speaking to Airline just now, the fares are non-refundable.

That means if you cancel for any reason (than medical reason), you wont even get the credit to use for another destination + dates with difference in fare.

So you need to be 100% sure about the dates you want to fly on.

    Good luck!

    • +2

Or you could just spend an additional few dollars on travel insurance?

    • Most travel insurance companies will refund your holiday for some specific reasons

  • +2

Booked SYD to LHR (23 Aug to 16 Sept) direct with MA as bestflights had nothing left.

2 Adults 1 child $3745 all in amazing deal !!

  • Excellent deal! I usually cop $2000+ going to Europe…

  • Guys, this must be booked in May according to the site (obviously), and different routes have Different travel periods! So check that out before you look at the prices.

  • I saw these fares advertised in a travel agent's window today so if you are a klutz with computers and can't trust yourself to enter details correctly you could get them to do the work for you.

  • i hate this deal only because its so good, i got the email from best flights as we are planing on going to a friends wedding in thailand at the end of the year to see a friend and i thought awesome for the same money we can just do a 2 week stopover than inter asia flight and than continue on to euro land got all my hopes and crit cards out only to find december is excluded :-(

lol great deal though and Europe is no fun in December anyway

    • sour grapes =P

  • I'm sure most of the savvy ozbargainers are already aware… Besides Amsterdam - Frankfurt - Istanbul - London LHR - Paris - Rome, this offer also extend to the following cities:
Dubai, Jeddah, Dammam, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires.

Go to this link and put in the city you're leaving from…

    http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/au/en/deals/deals-of-the-day…

  • Its not that good of a deal, me and other people I know have tried to book flights from sydney within the specified dates but it comes up with $2600 fares, maybe they are all booked out or something.

  • Booked Melbourne to London with a KL stopover 1/11 till 30/12
    $1261
    Very happy

    • nice, coz i dont even think december was included in the dates.

  • Looks like Aug/Sept are all gone? Anyone see any?

  • Booked ADL-KUL-LAX in September.Woohoo!

  • is this purely from bestflghts or malaysian airline in general? coz if its general then those who hate that awesome website can go elsewhere to get the deal?

    • This is a mas sale, not a bestflights sale. Just go straight to the Malaysia airline
      Website and search.

  • The best site to use to compare btw is lastminute.com.au and navigate to the relevant sale.
The search engine does a search on what date the sale is still avaliable for.
I used this when finding my flights and then booked through expedia

  • Thank you skystar :) :) :) :) :)

I'm going to Europe next year :)
