Killer Coffee 200g Coffee Beans + Free Mug + Free Delivery $13.95 @ KillerCoffee Co

170
jointhecrew10

I cannot comment about the bean themselves or the representation of the company to have the strongest coffee.

However $13.95 for 200gs of coffee + a free mug is a bargain to me. - however some will stick to their ALDI and and supermarket beans.

Roasted beans however are usually ~$15 per 250gs and not usually including delivery.
It is hard to find delivery included with anything under 1kg.
Standard pricing from our favourites are $30-35 per kilo.

It's the same price (or more expensive) as Market Lane, Five Senses, Little Marionette, Gumption… hardly 'aldi and supermarket beans'.

Oh, but you get a mug with a skull on it. Goes great with a 2011 Ed Hardy shirt.

Yeah, I am a bit on the fence, it is a nice starter pack to see if you're into it or not.
I will see if anyone else comments on having tried it themselves

        There are some reviews here

  • thanks op, free shipping and a mug makes it worth while for me.

Keen for aero press plus beans plus free shipping …

    • I got that bundle a couple of years ago for $59.

Has anyone had this before? Seems very gimmicky, not sure which audience they are trying to market to.

I would like to know the what roast level these are and the flavor profile not some BS about industrial strength. That has about as much appeal to me as "surgical steel" grade knives.

    • Seems very gimmicky, not sure which audience they are trying to market to.

Those that want coffee with stronger/more caffeine content perhaps?

      • Those that want coffee with stronger/more caffeine content perhaps?

Besides them saying "we've got strong coffee" where does it say what their strength is?

        • Why does that matter?

          • @magic8ballgag: You obviously are not a strong coffee drinker then.

I've tried "maximum strength" of quite a few beans and it's still weak.

Anyone can say "strong coffee". It's like your local coffee shop saying "best coffee in town"

            • @pennypincher98: And you obviously have a high tolerance to caffeine, which doesn't change the fact that this coffee is stronger than normal.

              • @magic8ballgag:

And you obviously have a high tolerance to caffeine

Not necessarily. I'm not sure how much you know about caffeine, but tolerance wears down if you don't have it.

You don't know me and my coffee intake, so stop pretending you do.

What the hell is a "normal" coffee also? Note: stronger coffee doesn't always mean more caffeine it can just mean you can taste the beans a bit more.

But by all means keep being an armchair connoisseur.

Right, but this company is clearly stating and selling the former, hence the skull on their packaging.

I never claimed to be a coffee expert of any kind, I just know how to read between the lines in which others clearly struggle to do.

Why are they so reluctant to tell us simple details?
You know when you have to result to "there's a skull on the packet so it must be strong" they aren't providing enough detail.

Every other coffee says on its packaging simple stuff. Why can't they as well?

Who do you think decides if a review is published?
Why would I buy from them versus a brand I know the roast, flavour and content?

It's going to take more than a free mug to entice me. A mug costs 75c at Kmart lol.

I can't answer that for you, or anyone else, as we all have different preferences.

I think you need to keep in mind that it's not my responsibility to sell the product to you, that's your perogative.

Did you forget your Associated tag? Of course I'm not going to buy it. I don't know what that gets you in such a tizzy?

Did you forget your Associated tag?

And this is where your tirade ends.

                              Good chat.

                              • @magic8ballgag: You aren't denying it though.
Or maybe you've just realised how irrational you've been.

Trying to convince someone to buy a bag of coffee other people have had significant issues with (yet, the reviews are glowing) is irrational. Who would bother unless they are getting something out of it?

                                • @pennypincher98: Read above.

                                  • @magic8ballgag: What, the part were you aren't a coffee expert?

That came through loud and clear, don't worry.

                                    • @pennypincher98: All I can say is, at least I wasn't as immature when I was 21.

                                      • @magic8ballgag: I don't know how old you are, but I think personally it's quite sad that you are still asking "but why" questions like a child.

It's basically like someone telling you a car is fast. Why does it matter it's top speed? Just buy it because someone said "it's faster than a normal car".

                                        • @pennypincher98: Perhaps, while you're young, you should learn that you don't need to overanaylse everything, life isn't all black and white.

Clearly you have a grudge against this company, caused by either a bad experience or you simply just dislike their product, which is evident by your strong stance towards them.

Both of those ring true for one reason. Their reluctance to share information.

If I am going to go to the expense of buying speciality coffee I want to know if it's better than my current one. Why is that so hard to understand?

Why is that so hard to understand?

You can stop being condescending now, it's a bad look.

Read the reviews or try it for yourself, it's as simple as that.

You can stop being condescending now, it's a bad look.

Wasn't being condescending. Just genuinely trying to see your point.

Read the reviews or try it for yourself, it's as simple as that.

That's exactly what they want. "Try it for yourself" is called buying it.
I can get good coffee elsewhere. It's not like this is the only place. It's not even a great price.

I'm struggling to see why they don't want to gloat about how strong their coffee is. I'm not going to go uphill and down dale looking for information. If they want to sell it, they'll put more information on the page. Simple.

I hate these guys, coffee was nothing special and my mug arrived broken.
Their support just didn't even respond.

You should downvote the deal (no disrespect to OP), I almost just went "why not" before reading all the comments.

      • Yes please someone neg vote.
As I said I negged their last deal

  • +3

Overpriced average beans. No stronger than anything else and the mug broke in the sink whilst washing it. This is a rip off compared to the 1kg bags I've been enjoying delivered every 4 weeks from Pablo and Rusty's, the Porter St is a wonderful blend and I have been paying $19.
Your wasting your time with this. Put your money towards some decent beans from a reputable roaster.

        Yes

  • A lot of people seem to think higher caffeine content is synonymous with darker flavor.. this is incorrect so it's important to be clear what kind of strength" you're looking for.

If I recall correctly, killer exclusively uses arabica beans. This means that the caffeine strength is lower than other brands that use a robusta blend, such as deathwish coffee (which is the strongest i've personally experienced).

While killer is weaker in caffeine than deathwish, the flavour profile is closer to a dark roast, like what you could expect at a cafe.

If your purpose is staying awake, then go with a robusta blend like deathwish. IMO if you're buying for flavour, there are lots of different providers like R&P available.

Kudos to killer, they were the one of the first here in oz to jump on the "high strength" bandwagon.

  • mine arrived, mug is quite nice and the coffee is pretty amazing too.

  • Link does not go through correctly…is the deal finished?

  • Deal is valid again, just placed an order.

I did have an issue with their website though, specifically the checkout page as it didn't appear to load correctly (cutting off the top of the page which hid the coupon box and error messages), so there was just some weird scaling happening in the two browsers I tested (Chrome/Edge).

Fix was to just zoom in and everything was visible in my window, not sure if this is due to my monitor or not.
