Apple TV 4th Gen 32GB $188 Officeworks

Apple TV 4th Gen for a great price. RRP is $209. Harvey Norman has it for the same price too.

Note there is an Apple event on March 26th where Apple is rumoured to announce a streaming service. Based on what I’ve read, unlikely to announce new hardware, but you never know.

Also, I’d like to apologise for missing your anniversary earlier this year. Your contributions are entertaining and appreciated, and I would have liked to have made a tearful speech on the day.

    • there is already a newer version, the Apple TV 4K 5th gen

      • That was announced back in 2017

      • Indeed - no 4k is just backward in this day and age.

Hopefully the new one will be 16K.

I still remember my first 16K TRS-80 computer

            @jv: I still have my ZX81!

@gadget: I had one of those with a 16k ram pack.
Still remember loading games using a tape deck. And getting magazines that had example "programming" code in them… like
              10 type XYZ
              20 Goto 10
and it would just scroll until you killed it.

@OzB123: I also had the same setup and a thermal printer with paper that did not fare well in the car!
I'd spend hours typing in the code from the magazine and there'd always be errors or missing lines and you had to wait months for the corrections or the magazine would be sold out at the newsagents

          • @jv: 32k or GTFO

          • @jv: …it’ll cost $16k!!!

One major dissapointment with the 4th gen and 4K Apple TV is the removal of the Toslink Optical output (only discovered this after purchasing).
The 3rd gen with the optical output has a second life as an AirPlay receiver for Wireless Audio at 48khz/16bit.
They seem to be pushing people towards buying their ‘Apple wireless speakers’ such as the HomePod/other AirPlay compatible speakers and other future releases.
