Unpopular opinion but the sound off this speaker is mediocre at best. The gesture control however is absolutely rubbish.

  I am very confused. Some seem to love sound while others complain about it. I liked the look of it when it was first released. Debating whether to buy and yes, see that gesture function seems to be hit and miss.

    Picked one up from JB yesterday.
    Obviously, it's subjective but I ran through a collection of test tracks and found the sound to be a bit muddy.

  Got one and can say the sound is pretty good. Get a bit harsh when going over 70% loudness but that is pretty loud for a 6x4 meter room.
  
  Gesture controls take a bit of getting used to, the volume gesture is not accurate. Changing tracks is.

The advantage of Costco is you can buy it to see if you like it and return it for a refund if you don’t.
