  3D has just moved to Playstation VR
  
  I still have a sony 3D tv and its still great watching 3D movies, they still being made just not many in 4K yet

I wonder whether 3D Blu Rays and TVs will become worth more in the future, because the technology has died off but the actual thing (on a good tv) is pretty impressive.

  They already are in some cases. LG’s OLED 4K 3D TVs from 2016 go for near new prices on eBay, even when they have been used for a few years, because 3D capability was dropped in 2017.

  Yep, it is. Anyone who thinks 3D was just a gimmick never saw it on a decent projector HT. It's no good on panel TV, which is why it failed. Shame.

I notice some of these are 1 disc versions. Does that mean that it's 3D only and no 2D version?

Still annoying that a lot of Australian 3D Blu-rays don't include the 2D version of the movie. Generally you have to get them from the UK to get both versions. For me the ideal would be 4K + 3D + Blu-ray + Digital + Bonus.

        @cc23: Ha, your right, a lot of versions, but it's annoying to have to buy multiple packages to get different versions and then ending up with multiple copies of the original Blu-ray movie.
        A good example is the original Blade Runner movie and the multiple versions available but at least that was released with all versions available in the one package except of course for 4K.

This was posted 5 years 1 month 25 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal.
