Looks like a good deal for a phone with respectable camera and SD835.
On the downside, it has a bit dull design and fails durability test of JerryRigEverything. Otherwise its got very good reviews.

    U12+ maybe for that price.

  • No 3.5mm connector kills it for me. It would have otherwise been a great choice for the wife.

Any ideas on cheaper androids with 3.5mm and decent camera (for kid pictures)? Low light performance would be nice, it's quite dark inside our house.

    • My one I bought almost 2 years ago came with USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter in the box. Would that work for your case?

    • it’s quite dark inside our house

      • Already did :p need a deal on new light fittings and an electrician

At this stage, I need at least a 6.44" screen… (I may upgrade current XiaoMi Mi Max to a '2 or '3)
I used to use an 8" Samsung phablet, so - XiaoMi has a phone (phablet) that large, I'd consider 1.

    So, 5.5" is a deal-breaker for us.

    • Loved my mi max 2, screen and battery were amazing. I shattered the screen, and my mother in law (Chinese) got me the mi mix 3 as a replacement. Obviously it's a great phone, but the daily need to charge and smaller screen with strange ratio really makes me a bit sad.

Max 3 looks amazing if you don't care about NFC.

  • I would rather have it sealed via the manufacturer

  • This is quite cheap. Kogan is selling grey stock for $529
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/htc-u11-64gb-silver-htc/

    Is there a catch here?

    • Yeah wondering the same thing

      • too cheap, raise suspicion

how did they unlock them if they're sealed

        • maybe it's manufacture unlocked just like iphone or LG

  • Had this phone for a little over a year and can recommend it. Pretty good price for what you get IMO. I particularly like being able to unlock it with "Hey Google" when using it in the car.

how's the battery life if you dont mind me asking?

      • +1

I could comfortably get a day and a half with normal use, but I don't do any gaming, so I guess it will depend on what you do with it.

  • Cracker deal ! Can't get anything near below at this price.

    Pie in June
    SD835/4gb/64gb
    1440p
    OIS cam
    Stereo spk

  • If only it has Dual SIM. Battery life seems to be quite good according to online reviews.

  • Just messaged the seller about warranty and tax invoice and below was his response:

Thankyou for your interest. The units are retail overstock which have not been activated as yet which should be valid for manufacturer warranty. You may want to get in contact with HTC to confirm the exact coverage details. Yes, we can certainly provide a tax invoice for any purchase. Simply send us a message after checkout confirming that an invoice is required for the order with any changes needed for the billing address (if different to the shipping address).

    • Can you please ask if it's dual or single sim?

      • Single SIM

        • Dealbreaker! :(

          • @CVonC: I know. Otherwise, I would have already pulled the trigger. But at this price for the great specs, you can't complain.

    • which should be valid for manufacturer warranty

sounds like they don't want to handle the warranty / any aftersales

      • They're just a reseller. Can't take risk to give you a whole year of warranty.

        • I think all phone retailers are resellers.

          • @dcep: A small one. Can't compare with allphones/mobileciti. Cutpricegadgetsau mainly sells used phones.

        • If they're an Australian based retailer, they have to give a warranty under law. The "talk to the manufacturer" line isnt good enough any more. If its second hand, then thats different

    • Just did some googling, apparently warranty can be checked on https://www.telstra-online.net/ePOW/ checked and it seems it ends in few months, as the shipment date was way back in 2017 :( On the bright side I got at least few months of official warranty.

  • Dual sim model?

    • +1

Single SIM. I just asked the seller.

  • The description says it's new and sealed. Would I have the right to return if I find it's used after buying?

    • Remember to record a video of opening the box. You are covered by eBay & Paypal so if it's not brand new, just make a claim.

    • For what it's worth, I bought a used Apple Watch from them last month and decided to return it, and they made the return super easy, no questions asked and gave me a full refund the same day that they received the return.

  • B28?

  • May not be eligible for HTC's warranty cuz we're not original purchaser with a valid proof of purchase.

  • OOS now

  • Still waiting for my Oreo update :(

    • My Telstra one was updated some time ago. Is yours Australian stock?

      • Sorry.. Realised my mistake. I meant pie.

  • Received my phone today - have to say its fantastic - awesome buy!

    • Enjoy. I missed out.

    • It's really snappy, right?

      • its so good - very fast!

        • How’s the battry life? Did you buy any case or screen protector for it? Which one would you recommend?

          • @hawkeye93: It's at 25% right now (5:07PM) - and i've pretty much used it non stop (high screen time - multiple apps) since this morning.

          • @hawkeye93: i just got a cheapy screen protector and case from aliexpress

            • @LongMemory82: U upgraded it to Android Oreo, right? Does yours have any gap between the screen and the frame? Mine has a few, quite annoying

  • Anyone experienced a gap between the screen and the frame? Not a big deal but quite annoying.
