      I've heard 3 different opinions about this game (that it's not great, that it's dumb, and that it's broken) but what is actually wrong with the game? I've also heard that it's a good game, so why has it dropped so quickly and suddenly.

        Look at what happened with Fallout 76. Same situation. Bad reviews and bad word of mouth = fire sale.

        Much like most online looter shooters, they will get better over time, but Anthem is severely lacking in any sort of end game and the loot issue is downright baffling. All sorts of serious issues are tied into the actual engine, so its not going to be a quick fix.

        This would of hurt EA a lot more than Bethesda. Rumored 6 year development time from their once flagship studio would of cost them a fortune.

        The endgame loot drops are off. The chances of getting a legendary is quite low and when you do it doesnt have the best stats most of the time. i think bioware is very focused on that right now.

        • Not enough end game content (content in general really)
        • Too many loading screens, pretty much loading screens for everything (some of them like 1min+ long), go into a cave (loading screen) go out of the cave (loading screen), go back to base (loading screen). The Division 2 etc don't have that issue.
        • Too many bugs, one of them being the best weapon in the game being the first gun you get

          6 years of work to create a game no one likes. Sounds like Mass Effect Andromeda. EA deserves this fail for buying out Bioware and gutting it.

        It's fun but the playstyle gets old too quickly for a 'games as a service' model. Imagine a single player game like Devil May Cry 5 being a 9hr game to complete, yet having better mechanics and more replay value.

        Endgame loot drops are barely worth the effort to farm. Imagine playing for 8 hours a day and only get a decent drop once per month.

        It's cool at first but gets old and boring really quickly.

        My first time playing I liked it then after the first mission you goto town. They cripple your walking speed to something insanely slow after your have been flying around and jetting around in a Mech. It is just frustrating.

        Next time you get into a mission the fun part wears off, I also had issues continuing along the story as noone was playing so I couldn't find a squad to play with.

        Really glad I got it for free with origin access. I would be pissed if I paid for it. You spend more time frustrated with the game and in loading screens than actually having fun.

      It's already on 10 hour trial I believe, which to me seems enough time to establish whether you like it enough to buy a copy, or are well and truly done. But yes, I would be surprised if this wasn't announced as going in the vault during an E3 presentation.

      You can return it if still sealed. I once asked for a refund of the difference on an item but the proximity of purchase was much less than yours. However, they said they were only doing it as a 'once off exception', but I got the distinct impression that anyone who asked would get this exception every time they asked.
