  • erm most of this stuff can be had from ebay for 5-10 bux a peice…
guess its a different brand though..

is this stuff on special or is this just spam?

(can't find anything to compare this to)

  • I bought all the stuff I needed to make Cat 6 cables on ebay for about $60 or so.
Suppose it would be nice to have all the stuff you need in a carry case.

    • same… as well as the coax ring thing, given this one is better than the plastic thing i have.

    • Difference is this is for coax only - so more specialised. It doesn't do RJ45 plugs for your Cat6. Can't verify if it's a good price or not but looks like a decent kit.

  • Sure it's a little pricey as you definitely get it cheaper on ebay but the stuff off ebay is cheap and nasty.

I got a cable stripper the blade broke after a couple times, so make sure you buy a couple of backup ones. Otherwise pay more for quality.

  • available individually from places like Jaycar, Electus Distribution, Altronics, WES Components, even DSE
Not a bargain, but OK price.
Crimpers about $30 with a die set, die sets about $12 each, lan tester $10, Stripper $10 Pliers $5, case???

  • Proskit's tools are good quality, cant compare them to the generic cheap unbranded stuffs, brought a cheapo toolkit with a cutter that cant cut from Bunnings, ended up returning it and bought a better one. If you are a serious installer or cabler you probably need a proper tester and that seems like a generic cheapo. Good for small time user though but bargain or not, hard to say…
