Screenshot of the offer

Plan inclusions: Unlimited National talk and text + 80 GB data (Initial offer was 60GB which has since been updated to 80GB)

P30 seems to be a really good price for the value considering the $199 upfront cost can be negated with the Sonos One Smartspeaker!

  • P30 RRP $1099

  • P30 Pro RRP $1599

Comparison… keeping in mind, these phones just got announced today.

P30 : $65 x 24 months = $1560 + $199 (Handset upfront fees) = $1759 - $230 (Generous Sonos One
value) = $1529 over 24 months = $63.70 with 80GB data and unlimited calls on Telstra network.

Optus charge $95 for their S10 with 50GB of data (plus unlimited international calls to 35 countries)

P30 Pro : $65 x 24 months = $1560 + $699 (Handset upfront fees) = $2259 - $230 = $2029 over 24 months = $84.50 with with 80GB data and unlimited calls on Telstra network.

Optus charge $105 for their S10+ with 50GB of data (plus unlimited international calls to 35 countries)

Claiming TRS will make the overall cost still cheaper.

And Optus are yet to announce their prices for the Huawei phones.

  • How easy is it to port out and port back to Telstra is there a wait period?

  • I don't get this $699 upfront, all I can see is $500 store credit if I buy a phone over $999

  • +1

Just did the optus deal through Harvey norman 10% port in discount. Works out to be 86.50 per month. works out to be 2076 total. If I deduct the sonos value of $230 its $1846 with 50gb data and optus has the mobile tv and music streaming pack which doesn't count data used when streaming netflix or spotify! i think it's way better value! Also not having to fork out 700 upfront is a plus too.

    • I just went to Harvey Norman and they said they can't offer the 10% port in discount? Is this something new?

      • Go register uber driver, and you can have 10-15% off (normally 10 sometimes special 15) Optus plan anytime. Uber and Optus are partners. Downside is likely you can only do this online. Not instore. Google uber optus

  • $65 for a sim only plan over 24 months is shockingly bad.

  • Is anyone else on here planning on signing up for this telstra plan and then just selling the phone and speaker????

Do you think that JB Hifi will continue this deal over the rest of the year?

I don't particularly want the P30… and don't particularly need a new phone at the moment but I am interested in a new phone plan, and it would be a pretty good deal if I were to sell the phone and the Sonos One speaker, and then I can just put the $1100 towards whatever phone I buy next.

I haven't seen JB Hifi do a deal this good since the Black Friday deals last year where they were selling the Samsung S9+ and the Google Pixel 3 for $300 when you port across and sign up for the $65 plan.

It's very hard to predict what will be ahead for the year.. trying to decide whether I should go for this deal for the sheer good value, or wait until later in the year.

Going off the deals they've done so far… it's possible they may do a similar deal when Samsung releases the new Note 10 later in the year… they may have some promotion on the S10 and S10+ over Black Friday and at the start of next year before Samsung releases it's next Galaxy S phone.

  • So far the best deal i got is with JBHIFI

$900 device credit from JBHIFI + $699 up front for the P30 pro handset on $65 Telstra plan with 80gb data 24mth plan.
Called Telstra and got $10 device credit per month, so its now $55 per month.

Thats a total of $2,019 over 24 months. Not too bad i'd say

    • How'd you get Telstra to credit $10 device per month? I just signed up same deal over the weekend.

      • call or webchat and ask for a port in credit.

        • Just rang them up and was told I was not eligible because it's a JB HIFI plan.

  • Anyone received bill. My friend said he got the bill which shows $65 + $6.5 GST. So that is $71.5 per month. I thought the advertisement means $65 pack includes GST.
