    • Yes and yes.
Trial acts the exact same as the full sub.
I had claimed stuff on twitch prime during my trial

  • +1

I'm already on Family Plan. Apparently I can't do it to add. Why can't I get a code and redeem after the Family Plan ends?

  • Thanks OP

  • Just tried to sign up (even though I don’t have a switch) just because you never know what’s gonna happen in 12 months. Unfortunately I got to a point that said I need to have logged my account into the Eshop using a switch to continue.

  • +1

This is great, just activated the 3 months free with no worries.

Set a reminder on calendar to come back in 2 months for the extra.

Would never have wanted Switch online but it's nice to have and try out!

  • Will this give free nintendo online, for as long as I have Amazon Prime? or is limited time only? ie. how does the "3 year stacking" work.

    Sorry, slightly confused.

  • +1

    Tetris!

  • +1

    So the cost is

$6.99 for Amazon, free 1 month for Twitch, then after $6.99 for Amazon, $6.99 for Twitch and then get the 9 months promo.

$20.97 for 12 months of Nintendo. That’s saving of $9.02 roughly.

    • +4

No. You can get a free Amazon Prime trial which includes a month of Twitch prime so get 3 months Nintendo online for free. If you want the full 12 months you need to have Amazon/Twitch Prime active for 60 days, so you’ll need to pay for at least 1 month. Total cost is $6.99 for 2 months of Amazon and Twitch Prime with the free trial and 12 months of Switch Online.

      • +1

Oh so the Twitch and Amazon are the same price of $6.99!

        Awesome!

I already used up my free trial of Amazon so I took that into consideration. Is $13.98 for me then.

        • Yeah, Twitch Prime is included with Amazon Prime. You could always make another account just to get the free trial I suppose but it depends if it's worth it to you.

        • Also worth noting that that'll get you Prime Video as well, and their content is improving.

Also Twitch has given away a fair number of 'free' games in the past.

  • +1

Just tried linking amazon and twitch account.

Got an error because no credit card details on prime free trial?

    Is that why?

Edit: refreshed and the link worked.

  • :(

    Error Code: 9001-0055
The product corresponding to the code you entered is not currently available.

    • I'm getting that too :(

  • Great. Awesome work! Free amazon. Free twitch. Free Nintendo.

Does the twitch trial end when my amazon trial ends?
Or do I have to end both memberships before renewal separately.

Also is there a page to see the expiration date exactly of the free Nintendo? So I can jump on extend 9 months?

  • “Active Twitch Prime account for 60 days required to claim additional 9-month Nintendo Switch Online membership at no extra cost.“

Does that mean the amazon account has to be active for 60 days first?

When can you activate the extra 9 months?
Can you do it well before the 3months is up?

  • +2

Please redeem the 3-month Nintendo Switch Online membership between 3/28/2019 and 9/24/2019

I signed up to Nintendo Online pretty well day one, I think I might just be able to jump in and use this come September, cheers OP.

    • If you do it now, it just rolls back your expiry by 3mths. Mine is now out to Dec.

      • You're not worried about missing out on the 9 months, or are you just using a Prime trial to get the 3 and don't care about the 9?

Also, I'm on the family membership so that might (profanity) me anyway until September. Worked out cheaper to get the family than getting a year of online for me and the missus separately, and then we threw a couple mates in for 10 bucks a pop, ended up doing alright.

        • It would add on the 9 months, it is a code isnt it? I havent done it yet myself but above states it stacks 3 years. Also it also states you must use it before 22/1/2020 so if it ends in December, you can add on the 9 months then.

That is my understanding so far.

    • I’ve already redeemed the 3 months. But what about the remaining 9 month?

      • You can get that after 60 days of being a prime member

  • Awesome thanks! Worked with no issues for me - have to remember to activate 9 months in 60 days time.

  • Where can you go (on a PC) to see where your subscription ends

  • Switch's have just dropped to $379 at Amazon if someone wants to post it.

  • +1

Tried this multiple times today but keep getting the error
Oh no! We can’t enable Twitch Prime on your account.
It looks like there was an error activating Twitch Prime.
Common issues include problems with the credit card used to sign up for Prime where the credit card may be invalid or declined.

The credit card on my prime account is valid, so not sure what the problem is. It seems to keep trying to redirect to the Amazon US site rather than Amazon AU, so Im guessing thats the issue. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

    • +1

Also getting the same issue, tried on different computers and phones and no luck, even if I create a new account, it still goes to the US prime when I click Australia. Other countries seem to redirect correctly though.

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

All these people with Amazon prime and twitch prime I hope you're all using that free twitch prime subscription

    • Tbh I rarely ever watch Twitch streams, it’s just a nice bonus to me with the occasional in game stuff.

    • Never been able to link it. The Twitch TV prime site they say to go to just asks to try it, no login or option to link. Will have to ring them I guess…

Edit: I found out how to do it. Thanks to a YouTube video. Had to click the Try Prime on the Twitch page and the select the country and log in.

  • So after having lots of problems I contacted Amazon support and got it working. In short, use a visa card on your amazon account, as twitch is garbage and has problems with some mastercards it seems when doing the initial authorization. Make sure your prime membership is using this visa card. Make sure to check your prime account and twitch account is unlinked as well, as it may show linked on the amazon side even if the twitch side did not register initially (if you have had an authorisation fail). Also make sure your credit cards can accept international transactions and are not blocked, as the twitch auth will be from the U.S. After that, try the link from the original poster and it should hopefully work. Ill post the full reply I received from Amazon support below.

    AMAZON REPLY BELOW
I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to link your Twitch profile with your Amazon Prime subscription. I apologize for the inconvenience caused in this matter.

I see that the payment information you provided for your Prime subscription with Amazon.com.au didn't clear the Twitch authorization. After the most recent changes to Twitch Authorization policy, certain debit cards (more specifically Mastercards) are unable to clear Twitch Authorization. In cases like these, we advise our customers to change their payment method (preferably a Visa Credit Card) and then link it with the Prime subscription on Amazon.com.au.*

To override this, I'd request you to check with the below information:

    • Request you to contact your issuing bank and confirm the address updated on their servers.

    • Then unlink your Twitch IDs:

    1. Go to https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/css/homepage.html
    2. Under Other Accounts, click “Twitch Account Settings”
    3. Click “Unlink Account” next to the Twitch account you’d like to disconnect.
      *
  • Signed up using the link, linked my twitch account with Nintendo / Amazon and claimed the 3 months. However there is an error stating that I've not claimed the 3 months despite my account showing it active (https://imgur.com/a/ReAquY1), this is preventing me from claiming the 9 months free any tips?

    • You have to wait 90 days and have continuous amazon prime for that 9 months to unlock

  • I have an Amazon Prime account, and my kids have a Twitch account with a different email address. Do I need to open a new Twitch account under my Amazon Prime email to link the 2?

  • I got through the pairing the Amazon and Twitch part and got to where you enter the nintendo account info. After I do that it takes me to this: https://accounts.nintendo.com/reauthenticate
This is just a white screen nothing loading.
Anybody know how to fix this?
EDIT: Nevermind, I just changed password and it went through.

We were having problems getting the Twitch Prime and were told that Twitch have problems with Mastercard so we were advised to add a VISA and remove all of the Mastercards in the account - which we did. Still no luck. They came back telling us to update the 1 click setting which I did but still nothing.

Spoke to another Amazon rep the next day and he advised that we had no payment method attached to the Amazon Prime subscription and that could be the problem. It must have been removed when I deleted the Mastercard from the Amazon account. So added the VISA card as the payment method for Amazon Prime and it worked.

I don't know what we were supposed to do if we didn't have a Visa.

  • Dad in law has amazon prime. We seriously couldn't find a way to activate twitch prime (I'm not talking about the mastercard issue).

Do you have to create a twitch account, log in, then link to your prime account?

I was expecting a "you have prime. Click this button to activate twitch prime" kinda link.

FYI - just went to cancel (started my Prime trial about 2wks before this offer), & it offers to extend the trial for another month.

Maybe try that to get a full 60 days (& 12mths Nintendo membership) with NO payment. :-)

    • Did this.

Given second month free Prime trial. Went into the third month because I hadn't claimed the initial 3-months NSO earlier enough to squeeze in between the 2-months of Prime had expired. I paid for the third month of Amazon Prime in order to claim the 12 months of NSO. When I then cancelled the Amazon Prime early (it was only a few days before the next month) they refunded that 3rd month I had paid.

So I got a year of NSO for free. Wasn't expecting too… happy enough to have paid for a month of Prime :)

It's been 60 days since this deal went live. Reminder to claim your 9 months switch online membership. I just claimed mine. :)

  • I wonder if have been on Prime for 60 days, can I cancel Prime and activate the 9-month later?

  • I'm getting the following 'warning':

It looks like you're in Australia.
Amazon Prime members in Australia get:
30 day free trial, then $6.99/month.
    Free games and in-game loot
Fast, free shipping, and unlimited video streaming from Prime Video

When I proceeded from there, I did get to see the normal 3 months Nintendo trial but got an error code at the end of the process (after providing cc details etc):
    Error Code: 9001-0026
In order to continue, please access Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch console linked to this Nintendo Account.

Looks like I have to wait for my eBay Switch to arrive later this week!
