They've increased the pricing of their cheapest plan.
    It used to be $25

    • And the $30 plan has been gradually raised to $35 and now $40.

      • I think it is to do with data pooling.
Buy one plan with massive data and get the cheapest plan for the later, or how many Sims you need

It was that price last week so I don't understand how this is a deal. It's more expensive not cheaper.

That 4GB roaming per month is so tempting.

  • $30pm - 3GB, unlimited national calls

That can't be right. Don't they offer 30GB for $35/month SIM only plan with a 12 month contract?

    • They do/did. I'm currently on it.

  • The $30 plan is worse than $30 prepaid plan, which has 10gb of data for 28 days. Something not right?

  • +2

Why is that a bargain, the price increase from $25 to $30.

  • +2

How can this be a bargain? $30 for 3GB??

  • +1

Everyone blowing up about the $30 plan. But if you need regular international roaming that $50 is excellent.

And here I pay $35 for 58gig on Optus BYO. This is terrible lol

  • $30 is obviously for data pooling deal. They increased to $30 because from the 2nd number in the same pool with the primary number will have $10 discount to make it $20 a month while it was $15 before so they increase it. Optus does not anticipate anyone will buy this plan individually, doggy deal.

I think there is no $10 Bundle discount

I have it all the time , the only condition is all the services including mobile and/or broadband are under the same name.
The first service pay the advertised price, and from the 2nd service always pay $10 less.Like I have 1st number $41.25 for 80G as the primary, 2nd number $15(discount from $25), make it $56.25 for 2 numbers sharing 83GB data pool montly and also nbn pay $80(advertised as $90).

        • Pretty sure they got rid of it for new services.

Need to delete this post. This isn't a bargain..just free advertising lol.

As other said before…it was $25/month for 3gb, NOW $30!!

    Cheers for the advertising Optus!

  • Are phone calls from Zone 1 countries in the $50 plan free to Australia numbers?

Just trying to compare with Vodafone Roam like its Home feature.

    • +1

Yep so 4GB data per month in Zone 1 countries and then unlimited calls/sms from Zone 1 countries to the country you're currently in and back to Australia (same as Vodafone).

The real benefit over Vodafone is the lack of $5 per day charge. The downside is the excess data charge… Optus is $1 per MB ($1000 per GB) whilst Vodafone is $10 per GB.

      • agree $50 plan is very good value if you travel, just wait for a promo before signing up

        • Yeh I'm probably going to do that… if they offer 10% off today then I'd do it.

  • +1

Hmm.. can't say it was a bargain even before the price increase.

I reckon these prices are lousy.
    Currently paying $30 for 15GB x 2 (30GB pool) incl 400mins of calls.
I reckon i'll stay right on this plan.

  • I was actually going to buy the $25 plan soon to go with my other Optus services but not anymore.

    • According to Peter Grejoy, you get a $10 discount with additional services signed up.

  • You gotta take out the $30/3GB, that’s not a deal at all lol

  • I signed up for $45 for 50gb minus 10%, so $40.50/month for 50gb, a few days ago. Deal ended 31/03,unfortunately, but these prices in the deal are not that great.

They used to include Philippines in the international calls now they don't so it's a big negative from me f Optus.
