What is the meaning of 'Chau Papa'. Looks like a new website using IWTF affiliate program. Good Luck

Rather than dealing with a middle man, you deal with a new middle man who deals with the original middle man who deals with the airline in the end. I mean, that doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster when something goes wrong at all!

      • +1

Even more than that, this is a middleman for another middleman (IWTF) for another middleman (the online travel agency) likely working with a global distribution system such as Amadeus/Galileo that’s then connected to the airline. Just shows to go how much extra fluff there is in airline pricing, despite airlines themselves probably having the lowest margin out of them all

If you can't trust an ultra-budget Malaysian airline, who can you trust?

  • What's air Asia and air Asia X like on at 7-8hour flight?

Writing this from pretty much the best hotel in KL, soon to get to the airport to come home.
Air Asia is fine. You can book a seat at the front of Economy for a few bucks extra and stretch out.
The meals are inexpensive and they taste good. No problem I can think of, except if you are in Melbourne, Avalon might be a long drive, but formalities can be quicker.
Also Air Asia flies in and out of KLIA2, the newer of the city's 2 airports. Rail to Sentral is $18, takes 28 minutes. Cabs and Grab (like Uber) are cheap and easy.

And the best hotel in KL is… the Majestic?

          I believe it is

    • flown both, they are fine. I dont even see them as budget. They are just cheap if you dont want food or luggage. IMO they are just as good as any airline flying economy.

      • While I agree they're perfectly fine, they're the very definition of a budget airline!

  • What's KL and the east cost weather like in August?

    • Same temp as the rest of the year - only about 300km from equator. Good news is the 'summer' is not the wet season, but expect an arvo storm most days anyway…

Genuine question - why would you want that information from a random stranger (who may mean well but be talking absolute rubbish!) when there's tonnes of reliable information on the internet telling you what the average weather conditions are?

  • Anyone heard anything about cheap fares for July??? Can only travel in school Hols thanks to the son in yr 12!!!!
